you aren't able to clear interviews, because you learnt that stuff from a youtuber instead of actually practicing it

Hey everyone, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Have any of you successfully aced an interview solely through tutorials, YouTube, or side projects without hands-on work experience? I am a SDET exploring a transition to SDE role, internally tried within my company ,not happening due to various reasons, hence trying to switch over. In order to achieve that, I've worked on full-stack sidd projects, practiced DSA, and made a good "tailored" CV that gets me interview calls. But I am currently facing mixed experiences in interviews. I am able to answer a few but struggle with some questions and seek advice on how to improve. Any suggestions for this career switch are greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton

Any DSA solvers? First time solving DSA and preparing myself to switch to better product based companies for higher package. My question is: When I solve LeetCode, I am able to understand the question, come up with initial approach too but without looking into solution or explanation I am unable to solve it completely!😢 while watching a Youtube videos I am perfectly able to understand and solve the problem but when I solve a problem alone(without any resource) or live solve in mock interviews, I am stuck.. Anyone's gone thru the same phase, how to uplift myself from here? TIA

Hey all, idk what's been happening recently but I'm not able to clear any interviews, ig I mess up in managerial type questions due to nervousness and then the whole thing goes down, it's been 2.5 years since I've been working but now I feel so demotivated that I've been thinking of leaving tech. Idk what's been happening, even the companies don't provide a good reason for rejection or at least a feedback on where I went wrong,

Try to avoid asking questions which can doxx me on LinkedIn (that's where I post a little) See if you can focus on asking questions around principles & not masala stories Problem with masala stories is that you'll learn the wrong things from my narratives This will be fun I think

Swiggy has become a toxic Ex for me now and there is no time to think about it at this point (for me atleast) I need to get back on my feet soon (sole earner in my family) and need some help. It has been a really long time since I prepared and stepped out there, so need some help in knowing what's going on out there. It would be great if someone can help with these: 1. Any interview resources I can start with 2. What all things I need/should prepare for 3. Any tips and tricks for the interview preparation I think it will be a lot of help for me and others too who are in the same boat. I was an SDE2 here and thinking of stepping up to SDE3 as well but right now even an SDE2 role would suffice. So will prepare accordingly

I'm 24 year old unemployed. I graduated in 2021 with BTech IT from tier 3 college. Initially I was preparing for UPSC exam but I gave up after few months and now for a year I have been learning Front End Development and have learnt HTML, CSS, JS & ReactJS but unable to find a job. I made a lot of mistakes in past and didn't learned from them. I'm not good at anything. I apply daily at different platforms ex: wellfound (formerly angellist), hirist, hirect, instahyre, cutshort, individual mass hiring companies off campus but from nowhere I'm getting interview call even if I get call I'm not able to clear interview. Now the thing is my parents gave me ultimatun to get out of the house by April 1st they don't care what type of job I do. I don't understand what can I do now. I'm willing to do hardwork and learn from my mistakes I just need little guidance to get on a track. If anyone can guide me on how to get a job or any advice. I would really appreciate it. Recently set out to hire interns and had a really strange experience Went through about 170 CVs. Most were shabbily formatted - which is okay, I understand most people aren’t that serious in college. But then after shortlisting and setting up interviews: - Multiple kids just did not show up for the interview. They did not even write a mail excusing themselves. Or reply to any mail from me about them missing the call. - Some of them literally turned up for the call on their phone. They’re mostly well to do, and definitely have laptops. But just casual. - This reduced my selection pool to literally 8-9 interns from 180. Of these too, generally saw most of them had too much overconfidence and arrogance about them. Barely went into the depth of the answers, and would over-portray their contribution in past projects/internships, without being able to explain what they really did I am genuinely shocked and taken aback. These were all Tier 1 college kids, and I just did not expect it to be so bad. A shock for me, and a future shock for many of these kids when they get into the workforce!
