Toxic culture <> micromanagement

I recently joined a organisation 3 months back as an APM and I am not liking the culture of the company. From growth perspective the company is good but some things that disturb the mental stability. The micromanagement of the company. Strict wfo 5 days 9 hours shift. No flexibility at all. Every month review with a ppt justifying your work. Work pressure is alot. 9hrs is getting 10 hours usually. I am not sure what should I do🥲

Micromanagement at its peak

So My Team has two leads mapped due to some personal favours from Manager as they are comfortable here. In my team everyone has its own deliverables doesn't matter if he's an associate or team lead. Few days back they tried reaching out to everyone for bandwidth. Everyone denied due to limited bandwidth . So they dropped an email copying manager that we'll have to give hourly updates to them everyday and they will also review our deliverables signoff. This really sucks. If any higher level folk is reading this , could you please guide us on how can we deal with this situation. As now they will escalate there work on our head.

Is my manager too much of a micromanaging red flag ? I started a new job and my manager monitors my Teams online status.

I recently started a new job. I would like to share some of the experiences I have had with my manager. I am wondering if these are red flags or if I am maybe being paranoid or thinking too much. It was quite difficult for me to get into this company and this job. The company is quite great and I was quite excited but some of the experiences I have had with my immediate manager have made me a bit apprehensive. I would like to share them and hear opinions about it. Here are some things which have happened which I have not liked so far - 1. I speak to a Senior Engineer one day and next day my manager asks me if anyone asked me to speak to him. 2. I shared an insight about a new tool which we can use on a deployment pipeline on the overall pod (under my skip manager). My manager immediately called me and started asking my status update and replied 'Discussing 1-1' in the group to prevent anyone getting visibility of the idea. 3. My manager pings me whenever I go offline and recently he asked me in a passive aggressive way, 'Please monitor your Teams status. It was away for most of today.' I now feel kind of paranoid to never get up as I feel my Teams status is being monitored.

Why are Indian startups so obsessed with Micromanagement? i.e. WFO

I have been talking to a few companies, across different size bands. Only Indian startups seem to obsessed with full week WFO/Micromanagement. A few years back, startups were known for being more flexible, now it just seems to be the reverse.
