Things not great at Unacademy's NextLevel
NextLevel has entered maintenance mode. Friends working on it have kind of confirmed.
Idk why they even started this product. There was zero need for it, but management just HAD to have their way.
Everyone working on NextLevel has basically given up at this point. We're in maintenance mode, just waiting for the official announcement. The product roadmap was a joke from day one. Instead of focusing on something actually useful, they kept adding random bells and whistles. Oh, let's make it like Gas app with polling! Let's throw in some Inshorts-style news! 🙄
Here's a pro tip: copying features from 3 different products doesn't magically create one great product. It's like they threw spaghetti at the wall and hoped something would stick.
This is a lesson for anyone trying to build in the consumer space. You can pour all the resources you want into something, but if your thinking is fundamentally flawed, you're just burning the money.
Management needs to actually listen to people who know what they're talking about. But nah, they'd rather chase their pet projects and ego trips.

Unacademy: Setting the record straight
The negativity brigade is out in full force against Unacademy lately. Honestly watching this relentless media agenda against us is like watching a bad tv show. As someone who's part of the team, I want to set the record straight.
First off, Gaurav Munjal is the smartest, visionary entrepreneur in the country. He's basically a genius. Like a legend, truly amazing! My observation is that people who are throwing a shade have never built a startup themselves or have never led anything more complex than a lemonade stand. They are simply jealous of Gaurav's awesome success. Meanwhile, legends like Bhavish and BeerBiceps are cheering Gaurav on. Coincidence? I think not!
Oh and layoffs! Every company does it – it's just business 101. Times are tough - stop whining and smell the coffee. This isn't a reason to target Gaurav. I see a lot of snowflake work-lifers who only want to work from 9 to 9 for 5 days. We did indulge you, didn't we? If you really don't want to be "laid off", what is stopping you from doing great work? Even better - why don't you start your own company and keep this stupid to 9-9-5 policy and "not lay off" these work-lifers who are a burden on your company?
Let's focus on constructive support and recognize the efforts of those truly making a difference.

Unacademy is up for sale
I don't understand, the sector that makes sureshot money on small and medium scale is continuously failing on pan India scale.
A small IIT coaching in Patna with 2 centres generates profit in crores but these Byjus and Unacademy are not really able to do anything significant in long run.

Layoffs at Unacademy
More than 600+ people have been laid off silently at Unacademy. This round is going to continue till 30th June.
The mental harassment and pressure is off the charts. And the irony is that they are still hiring people from the outside while laying off current employees.
