Need your Experience Takeaways

I am a software engineer with 3 years of experience .For the first two initial years I was working as a QA in one of the good product companies with a very sorted work life balance . I had recently switched to a BE role in a startup I am very much lagging behind here because of my QA background ,the people here are very much talented and are great problem solvers .How do I reach that level ? I have been struggling to keep up with the pace here and finding it difficult to approach the tasks,even though i have been giving so much of time to work . And the TL in my team have a certain amount of expectations and hence they don't help according to that .(which i feel is fair) How should I approach this and level up here Anyone with a similar background and story please share your experience :) Any advice would really help

Currently working in a startup and contributing in data science projects. Learning is good but a lot of time goes down in meetings and discussions and I have to do late night work. Everyday starts to feel like the same and I am not able to get time for extra learning to enhance my knowledge and tech stack. Also thinking of company change but most of them need 3-4 years exp to the data science team. 😭

Recently joined a company.We majorly work in c and c++ . It has been a few months since I joined the company but it feels like I haven't really learnt anything new nor am I contributing majorly in any way . In this time span I have rarely coded and it feels like it is affecting my career deeply, especially being a fresher in this domain.I want to know the possible ways to tackle this situation and what else that you guys recommend.

I am a BE graduate after college I tried govt exams but couldn't clear it...after that i learned a software on my own i joined a small company which trained me little nd projected me as a experienced to a client, i cleared interview and got placed to the client but that project is too complex and even fr small tasks i am taking weeks to complete....daily i feel bad nd humiliated fr not completing tasks and people are not friendly here... Should I see this as an opportunity or this is wrong...will other IT companies to do the same

I am a 2022 grad and 1yr into my corporate life and I have stopped liking software engineering. I took software engineering as a career because for the love of it but after experiencing the office politics and constant mundane work I have lost my zeal. We are always caught between the CTO and the Manager not being on the same page and redoing a lot of our work. For the past 1yr we have been migrating the same stuff to different platforms. No innovative work, no recognition for good work. Is this normal in the corporate world? Also I am thinking of taking a break as I want to focus on my health. Is it a good idea to take a break now for 3-5 months and then get back to working again?

Working as an SDE2 right now. Got promoted recently. Motivation to work is at an all-time low. Feels like I am stuck in a rat race. Is this normal? I see senior engineers in my team and frankly, I don't want to end up like them in the next few years. Immense respect for their skills and what they bring to the table, but I don't see myself doing that. I have a few options to consider: Bucket 1 Keep grinding at my current role Decent growth (career and money) Stable life, certainity Low Risk, Moderate Reward Bucket 2 Coast at current role Look for a switch (preferably outside India) Make a lot of money Basically, follow this and keep climbing the ladder Boring AF Bucket 1 and Bucket 2 can probably be merged, keeping them separate as it is very different in reality. Bucket 3 (The Interesting Bucket) Coast at current role Build micro-SaaS solutions, contribute to open source, build problem solving attitude Startup someday Could result in slow growth, might end up wasting a few years. The real constraint? I have to support a family. All expenses. We have no other income source at this point. Taking any risk with income is a big deal for me. Just ranting here. I am not expecting a clear pick. Just looking for more opinions on what I am thinking, and maybe understand if I am overthinking.

I am working as SDE 1 in a good Indian startup. It's getting toxic day by day. Late night workings like 3AM and working on weekends is normalised like anything. Since I am new to IT ( no sort of politics never) and have almost 2.5 Years of experience, I am facing issues in getting credits. Last appraisal cycle in January, I was nominated for promotion but wasn't given to me, reason: you have not worked with architect and he was making decisions. In that case, architect should have been distributed tasks to us. one SDE3 is leading one of the projects ( not a big one ) and manager/architect is not much interested and never join any standup or retro, I have contributed immensely to that. Now since it is completely driven by sde 3 , he takes updates from us and show his work infront of seniors and director + announces like his work and seldom we get thank you in threads. Like if you did one function or wrote complete flow, for both thank you. Because of all these reasons, my work is not getting recognised. There is no one in team to help in this. Whenever a manager or Architect show cases some features or release, it's pretty evident that his team has done it but when a sde 3 does it, it is not the same. It conveys the message all or 90% work is done by him. I would like to take some suggestions from my seniors and fellow mates here. Hierarchy - sde 1-2-3-4-EM I can't leave or switch right now due to some critical persona reasons.

I work in a few months old as a software developer. In a startup . Being Only employee. The CTO left some days back. Pay is decent . Around three year of exp. However I don’t feel like learning anything having no senior in tech background. Also working there isn’t motivating at all. Since the founder are basically getting a tech product made and then keeping on adding features, rather than selling already what’s been made. Make me work all days including Saturdays. I am preparing dsa for whatever 1-2 hrs i get but I dont like doing my job. Since market is bad and ive been out of touch with DSA, I am not able to decide whether to quit and prepare for a job full fledged or keep whatever’s going going. These people have also said they will try this project for max 6 months if nothing works.

I have over 15 years of experience working in IT and feel stuck here with no growth. At this juncture I am worried if I can get any offers outside as my skills are not great and I feel someone with around 5 years exp can do. Most of the work I did is a middle man work between business and developers either a lead or manager etc. any suggestions? On what path should I choose?

I have been working in this startup for around 1.5 years now, and soon I am going to be the only developer here, as the other 2 devs are going to leave soon. The company is now calling me to Bangalore. I am thinking as there will be no devs my growth will be very less, as this is my first organisation after graduation. But looking at the market situation it feels like I should just continue with the current org. I am not sure what to do. YoE; 1.5 year CTC: 9 LPA Saving: 1LPA
