what do you think is the best job role with a decent pay with least stress and best wlb

What's the profession which pays you most while keeping WLB in check. I know it also depends company to company, so would be good to have both.

Hey Grapevine folks, Which companies are best in terms of Wlb and pay structure.

I am 2023 passout and I got fulltime around 2023 July, till now I have total 1 year internship experience and 9-10 months full-time. I decided to switch because of multiple reasons like, sometimes wlb become worst, toxic management and full politics, not feeling like learning anything just making APIs from past few months. As I am in my early stage of career I got a good switch with approx 120% hike on Base and 60-70% hike on CTC. Now I am in highly doubt that this switch is a good switch or I should have waited for 2 years and could have switched to directly sde2 with more compensation? My preference is both good compensation and good wlb. Please suggest me something? My goal is to reach 50LPA base till 4 to 5 years of experience.

Can anybody name some Indian companies with good work life balance ? Or is it a myth ? And no , I’m not looking at government jobs , just IT companies or companies with IT wings :)

Also, does the payscale is proportional to the level of stress, or are there any lucky people earning unproportionately to their stress?😅

How's the wlb and job security ? Is it true that they fire few people every year ?

Looking to compile a list of a great companies to work for in India for SDEs. The company does not need to have Indian origin. Some of the criteria to pass to be a great company 1. Good WLB 2. Top tier compensation 3. Office culture 4. Career growth and visibility Let me know what your “best” companies are.

Is it possible to balance WLB and have a good career growth? I don’t think people who are directors, VPs at Top companies might’ve prioritised WLB early in their career. But, I’m open to hear your opinion if it’s otherwise. Also, do you prioritise work or social life at this point in your career?

With my small experiences in the past, I haven't seen a good Startup with WLB for SDEs (0-3)yoe. I want to know whether you work in a startup where there's WLB. I understand that more work means more learning but I do not agree with this every time. There are way more SDEs working in very very small startups who have humongous learning with a pinch of money they are being paid. For me WLB means enough time to relax and spend time with my loved ones and also less mental stress. I have observed that the Leads/Managers will give any features no matter how complex they are, need to be built with 0 to no help specially for SDE-1 people. And later they are blamed and scolded or they're put in PIP and ultimately thrown out. What is your experience?
