How do you find clients as freelancer

Basically the title, I am new to freelancing as a web dev. I want clients but on upwork, fiverr is so crowded i can't get any. I heard lots of people get clients from LinkedIn and Twitter. How do they get clients, Is public profile needed or past projects required? I haven't posted my projects on LinkedIn or Twitter.

I am seeing lots of 22 years old who have opened their digital marketing agency and earning really good money by working with freelance clients who pay in dollars. I am starting up and I want a source of income. Don't really want to go to corporate job. Haven't had much success with freelancing. Cold mailing hardly works and gig websites like Upwork etc have lots of competition at some really cheap rate. What are the best way to getting freelance work with international clients? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Here's a little bit about my career: - I dropped out of college to build a design studio with 20+ people for 4 years before leaving that to start another studio. - I’ve worked across most major startups in Bangalore (not including brand names here for anonymity) - I’ve worked across brand identity design, UX/UI, social media marketing, ad films, animation/motion graphics, and 3D Happy to answer questions about design, freelancing, starting an agency/studio, the design industry, etc.

Finding clients on Upwork, people per hour, freelancer isnt easy nowadays, whats your preference??

I’m try to get some freelance work for side income and it’s quite difficult to get freelance clients initially through portals.

Coders on grapevine, need your advice. I want to start part time job or freelancing to earn extra money. I have 7 yoe in JavaScript (reactjs, react native). Where should i start my search?
