Which is a better option to increase salary/package ? switching roles in between different sectors like banking,audit,financial markets. Or To build a career in a specific area/sector.

Hi folks I’m new to this platform. I need some advice I’m working as a frontend developer with 1.8 years of exp and a package less than 6lpa, can u tell me how can i get into 30-45 lpa package

I see a lot of people with some years of experience earning in the range of 10-15 LPA. At the same time I see people with same experience earning 50-60 LPA. I know switch is one of way to get the package you want and companies don’t give enough increment and all that gyaan. My question is a bit different. Even when people from 10-15 LPA apply to bigger companies, the company is only willing to give them 30-40% of hike. And that includes the likes of a lot of top tier companies (don’t count FAAANG) So people who really reached high packages, what is the secret sauce here. Asking as a friend of mine is struggling for months. He works at Accenture so either the companies that call don’t wait for the notice or give only 30-40% hike at max saying this is market standard for the role What is your take on it, exclude job hopping in few years because even that doesn’t work for some people or some profiles.

Got placed for a package of 14 base after my undergrad, happy for my self. But when I look and see package for my friend who are working as an associate consultant with a package of 30lpa, I feel like I deserve more. Also I feel growth, package and perks are good in consulting. As many of you are currently working professionals, most of you can relate to the feeling, can you give me advice regarding this.

Hi fellow grapeviners, I came across few posts mentioning i am earning 60+ or 70+ lpa having 2.5 to 3 years of experience but age is only 23 or 24. I know this is too good to be real. Some iitians can do but are these people real? Please answer because these posts make me depressed i don't know why?

There’s this chap on GV who posted that they haven’t received any calls for the past 3 months. Has 2.5 years experience with a current ctc around 15L. We spoke to them only to realise their expectations are 32L (26 fixed and 6 in esops) In a market flooded with resumes due to unfortunate situations, is it fair to have such an expectation and at the same time, call out on GV that they haven’t been getting calls for an interview?

Can i ask for 15 - 17 LPA in the interview? Has anyone got this package other than a AIR or first attempt cleared person? How should i negotiate in the interview to get this package?
