Gukesh is the youngest player ever to win the FIDE Candidates
Can you believe it? He's only 17, a year younger than Pragg. I was so disappointed when Vidit lost to Nepo in the 11th round, but now Gukesh is just one step away from being the world chess champion.

Wow, just impressed by the chess following off late. Are most folks re entering chess after the COVID lockdown and Samay Raina vlogs?
Or has the interest always been there, just that my ignorance didn't let me notice it

Surely, I'll give a lot of credit to Samay Raina for making chess mainstream, and technology has helped spread it across the globe. Grandmaster Hikaru also increased interest with his funny commentary in live streams. And, of course, these 17- and 18-year-old grandmasters beating Hikaru, Magnus, and Nepo increased the hype.
Samay was the reason I started watching/ playing chess
