Watched 'Crew', realized I need more Female friends in life

I am a 29 YO single male. I earn decently well for my age. Lately I haven’t been feeling well. As in, life is just passing by and nothing brings me joy anymore - No PS5, No long drives, no movies or shows. Weekends are especially lonely. During weekdays, I make sure I go to my office everyday even though it’s hybrid, to avoid feeling lonely. I don’t have any female friends to talk about things deeply as most of those friends are now getting married. (you know how is it with us boys. It feels weird to share emotions or talk about life with the same sex somehow). Same for male friends. They are all getting married. Somehow, it just feels like I focused too much on my work and didn’t invest time in finding a mate at the right time. Now, on weekends, I just lay on my bed like a loser. I was never like this. I had so much drive to work, to explore, etc. But now it all seems pointless. Do you guys have any suggestions on what to do?

Was speaking to two of my friends (from GV) on this topic. One was supporting, and one against. As a fellow female on Grapevine, I think it is not necessary. If only we stop treating women as second gender, and just see them as basic humans, a lot of things will change. To let people have a safe space to voice opinions, does not need a secluded room. So many of us are unaware of problems (physical, mental, emotional) others face, this platform does a great job in bringing all at one place.

Maybe you have outgrown your friends. Maybe you want to talk to people who get what you do for a living. Maybe you just need people to play cricket with.

Why do people on this platform assume a generic username to be a man? (if the username doesn't give the gender away)

I grew up with 5 sisters (1 real and 4 cousin), I am aware about the pain and the tribulation that women go through and have always been supporting women in general. I was shocked to see the opposite when I stepped into the real world. Most women whom I have met have only disposed me after using my resources. Be it a friend or even a prospective gf. Even my lady therapist offered the same solution indirectly by saying that things work differently for men. I have always responded to their rants and have comforted them. But when it was my chance to vent out, they were like YOU ARE A MAN YOU SHOULDNT BE BOTHERED BY MENTAL ISSUES, FOCUS ON YOUR WORK. I feel bottled up and sometimes end up breaking down. These are the people I have been knowing for ages. The other day I randomly started slapping myself for no reason in the washroom. I dont feel like I am being heard. I dont want such a life where I am being left alone for feeling the same things a woman would feel. I feel that the only thing I am good for is making money. Afterall, thats what men are supposed to be. This is a punishment for breaking my mould and I accept that. I have been very empathetic so far. NEVER AGAIN. I love myself and only myfuckingself nowww. There is this book called "Men are from jupiter Women are from venus" which clearly states that when women are in misery, make them feel heard. And when men are in misery, leave them alone. QUEEN , RATHER PLS K!LL US ALREADY. Why are kind men being subjected to the punishment which bad men (rapist, dowryfreaks, cheaters) deserve? Why do I see bad men getting so much attention and respect? Why are we still adulating Ranbir Kapoor's charachter for cheating on Rashmika just coz Tripti was attractive? Being emotional is such a curse for men ! Dear men, Please focus on your LPA and provide for your parents, future wife ,and kids, and when youre old enough, JUST ROT AND D!E. The moment you dont, you will be treated like hell.

- It's hard being the only woman in the leadership, in a room full of older men. If you don't hang out with them, you are excluded. If you do hang out with them, you got to get you act right with nods and smiles along the small talk. If If If If.. thats the loop you are caught in. - Imagine being the only female developer in the team. BRO code is the default setting. DEV code took a sabbatical. All of you go hang out with beer, smoke and whatever and what if I am not into that? I am not a so called BRO then. And dont even get me started on the casual jokes and me not being into gaming and TT. Go ahead ask me.. How does she even fit in then.. Right?? - Declare I’m taking a "Wellness" Day. Might as well hold a flag and say "Guess who's on her period?! ME ME ME!" So much for your policies - I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve been interrupted, spoken over.. - Dress too casually, you're not taken seriously. Dress too nicely, you're trying too hard. I've been judged for my clothes more times than I can count - too much, too little, too fashionable - yep been called that too. It’s exhausting - I think my presence is acknowledged only when it’s convenient for them. My opinions and insights are ignored until they need a female face to tick a diversity box - I’ve stayed late and worked weekends just to prove I’m just as dedicated as the others (even when I was doing next weeks work) - Finding a mentor who truly understands the challenges I face as a woman in tech is nearly impossible. Male mentors often don’t get it, and female mentors are spread too thin - I was told to speak up but when I did, I was labeled aggressive. I'm expected to be assertive but not too assertive, confident but not too confident. Also if I am progressing too fast, I have someone special rooting for me for something special in return - that the peoples verdict. And then the gossip starts. A large majority of Orgs, Founders, Leaders, HR are getting by doing the bare minimum.

Title says it all. Most women I encounter these days like to get blackout drunk for some reason. Have had to escort quite a few to their homes occasionally too. Can't figure out why though, rarely seeing responsible drinkers in my circle and on dating apps. They're either completely teetotallers or heavy drinkers. Rarely in the middle. Anybody else seeing this too?
