Workplace Toxicity at HSBC

So I gave the test two weeks ago and still haven't gotten any response from the recruiters. Generally how long does it take to move to the next round? Are candidates rejected at the personality assessment test level?

A friend used to work as AVP at HSBC’s credit analyst team in Bangalore Office. Apparently, one of the female AVPs loves gossiping and went around the office saying our guy doesnt work at all and is shitting on a crucial project. When reported to the lead VP, he failed to take any action. Upon threatening intimation to HR, the lady got wind of the whole situation and calls up our guy applogising and stuff. But the back bitching doesnt stop and this time our guy ends up leaving the toxic workplace. No cookies for guessing who’s in line for promotion next. Other reported incidents against which no actions were take 1) making juniors cry 2) deleting teams billable hours without informing anyone 3) not informing about leaves and then creating chaos over non completion of work and the show is just getting started….

A lot of you might have seen the HDFC bank video where a senior executive got batshit crazy at his juniors and was yelling at them. This is my story of a a similar experience in a well funded NBFC. Hint: Aye Aye So, i joined this NBFC startup with a cushy package, let's say 35 lpa in 2021, to transform the corporate. Joined in a leadership role but the reality hit too soon. The work environment was too toxic. People didn't know how to behave, the leaders are monsters and there were no weekends for straight 4 months. I started yelling at everyone around me and i was stressed 24/7. One fine day, i went straight with a fuck you and resigned from the job, took a pay cut and rejoined corporate. I joined there from an MNC. Life is smooth now. Remember, if your think Banking sector is bad, NBFCs are worse and the startup players are a notch below. Pay cuts are bad, it took me two years to get back to market. However at all of our lives, it is very important not to promote this shitty culture.

So it's that time of the year when variable payouts are being processed. Everyone’s excited, checking their bank accounts. I get the email from HR - "Your annual bonus is..." I open it It’s enough to buy me a nice lunch I go to my boss and ask him about it He says "We had a tough year, need to tighten our belts" I look at his belt - it’s designer Meanwhile, I’m tightening mine to skip meals. I said "Thanks" and left. He says "Keep up the good work" I leave the meeting room and start Googling jobs - CONFESSED NO ONE

Hi guys, just wanted to know about the work culture at HSBC? How is their hybrid policy and working hours? Any glaring problems? (I know the last one was weird but waiting to hear if possible) Applying for PL/SQL developer. It would be great if you could share your opinions. Thanks!!

I am currently working as a senior engineer at a startup (yoe 6+). Initially things were good , but from the last few months The workplace turned toxic and all the nasty things started happening around me. The burn out was deteriorating mental and physical health, so i lost my patience and resigned. Making this ama , so that I can help someone who is going through the same situation.
