Another Tax!💰

One of the reasons as stated is to increase the use of public transport. But what public transport? There are no metros in the areas they mentioned. Buses are almost always crowded and also do not have any direct links, so a few people may have to change two or three buses. A majority of the people would then either choose an Uber/Ola or just pay the congestion tax, whichever’s lesser. If it’s the former, wouldn’t this mean owners of two wheelers switching to a three/four wheeler which in turn would lead to more congestion? They have compared Bangalore to cities like Stockholm, London, and Singapore which have better public transportation. If they really wanted to save the environment, cycling would be a great option, but in flooded and terrible roads? They recently made public transportation free for women which didn’t sit well with the unions. Is this to make up for that loss? I’m genuinely curious to know the logic here. Can anyone please help?

These illiterate people have absolutely no idea how to manage the traffic. This is incompetence at its peak! Banning private services and introducing new taxes every now and then is becoming a new norm. Worst is no one seems to be taking it seriously. Folks of bangalore, you deserve way better than this!

leaving Bangalore is the only option. Am going back to my village an setting up some shop. Buy a acre of land and classify myself a farmer. Government will take care of me. Cost of living is low, better quality of life. Infact if you can afford, you get premium quality life style products too. Cities can go to hell.

ORR is the biggest culprit since car is the best option for people staying less than 10km. This causes every day traffic jam. If there is a easy last mile option, the Volvo buses more than cover the major part of the commute.

Instead of imposing taxes on everyone, if they will restrict the movement of intercity/interstate bus and reduce the frequency of the bmtc bus in the middle of cities, they don't even need all these complicated solutions (read as problems).
