Basically the title. What according to you is essential for a good manager? For me, if my manager can foster strong and sustained relationship with me / the team, the team is more likely to work more diligently. Curious to know what are the signs others look out for?

As I read few posts about leadership styles, rants about pathetic managers. Since this platform has a combination of managers & freshers/reportees. Just thought to know what defines a good manager. Also would like to know from people who are in the leadership role - What makes you think you are a good manager & what is that one thing u want to do to make others life better at office.
Question to all the software engineers. What are some traits of the best PMs you have worked with - could be a behavioural aspect / work ethic / knowledge of the domain etc.

I am an SDE-1 at a product company for the past 1.8 years, I need help with the things / qualities I should develop so that I hopefully get promoted in the next cycle. I wish to show a lot of ownership but in our team, the work gets shared with senior engineers, so it seems or appears that we get overshadowed by them. How do I stand out and make an impact, that my manager notices?

Hello all, I will be joining a listed unicorn startup as tech lead. I was working as sde2 in previous org. How should I start my journey and exceed in this role. Need some valuable suggestions. new company new role new responsibilities.
It's been almost two years since I have been working for a startup and I report to a founder. The work has been quite remote and the teams collaborate remotely. How often should I have one to one sessions with my manager? The last time we had a one to one was during my appraisal which happened a year ago post which we never met 1:1. However, we meet once a week on a group staff meetings which is driven on a specific business agenda? Is this something healthy?
Feeling clueless about which industry (problem statement) would be interesting to me. Your perspective will help.
