Share your reason to resign

Hi All, I Joined this Irish-American tech consulting company in 2021 with a 130% hike & 3.8 YOE. I learnt a lot of new things and made some really good connections within 1.5 years.Now the work has been saturated to a point where I no longer write code , but only review it while approving the prs of juniors. Also I don't like the way the people at the client side run the project. Even if I ask for a change in a project I know for a fact that either it will take at least 6 months or the other project will be mostly like be support work. Please help me come up with a polite reason that's not about higher education or salary. I have an offer from Deloitte and TCS currently with a 50 % hike.

Hello Grapeviners So I guess I hit the mid-life career crisis and finally resigned from Microsoft abruptly yesterday. Reasons for resignation: 1. I am saturated with my work and feel out of fuel now. 2. No Pay Raise or Stocks since 2 years. 3. No Promo in last 2 years even after being a top performer and winning multiple awards and accolades. 4. Was promised by my manager that I will be promoted in Feb but now he/she quotes budget. What my manager says: 1. You have a valid L1B, don't resign. 2. Says you will get the promo in September but now it is not possible. Please Note: I resigned abruptly without any offers in hand. I guess managers think that folks who have L1B won't resign so their promo can be delayed. Just wanted to share with the the community. Thanks 🙏

Looking for genuine and non diplomatic answers since it will be anonymous. It is upto you to reveal the name of the company you resigned from. Lets discuss!!! I will go first - I quit my last organisation (a famous UPI company) in 2020 because, they still are in old technology. No cloud computing, no kubernates, no terraform. Their entire baremetal infra are in 2 DCs (Mumbai and Bangalore). Leadership ideas are outdated. I was very much bored and looking for a change.

I recently joined a company and it has been 1.5 months there and the total probation is for 3 months and the manager has made it clear to me in the starting that they can let me go off during probation anytime easily. But when I looked at the offer letter there was no provision for me to do the same. My actual problem with this company is that they make you sit in the office and complete the general shift timing which is 9 hours. Also there is an opening in Blinkit for sde1(android) on instahyre for which I want to apply as I am in love with their product and getting an opportunity to work for that product is like a dream for me. So should I take this move and apply at other org and move from here during probation

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well. Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

Were you offered any salary hike when you told your manager/HR that you are resigning. If so, how much %age hike were you offered. Curious to know the interesting stories even if you weren't offered anything.

I am a software engineer with 1 year of professional experience and about 2 years of experience counting all my freelance gigs as well as internships. I’ve identified that I’m good at picking up new technologies easily. I’m also very detail oriented and tend to find the moat optimal solutions even though my current position only expects me to follow the PRD provided by my tech lead. I find that most of the times, I have had to raise my concerns to my seniors for a change of an approach with me being correct almost all the time by the end of the discussion. Now I feel confused, that maybe I was being underestimated and therefore underpaid by my employer. Context: I switched to this company about 6 months ago with a package of 12 LPA and got a mere 5% hike to 12.65 LPA during last month with a promotion from being a technical associate -> software development engineer. During my meeting with the manager, i was told that my performance was ‘very good’ but since its been only 6 months, they are giving me a promotion to match my skills but not give me a good hike. Any thoughts?
