Laid off in nov. Recieved offer from service company
Hi folks I got laid off in nov from a startup . Had no luck getting a job since then. I recently recieved offer for a job in service based company with same salary and remote role. Should I join and look for others? Standard things like 3 months notice apply. Yoe: 3y3m tc: 0 (prev 23L)

Sure, grab the opportunity you are getting. In this tight job crunch it’s hard to negotiate when you are jobless. Keep the job and then start working on other companies
Wouldn’t it get even harder to aply to other companies now that the notice period is 3m

Nope, if often negotiable. Otherwise if you get a better package on switch, buy back the remaining time of notice period. Generally you can reduce the notice period to 1 month.

Imo, don’t get into service company unless you are in deep financial crisis. Service companies can be the death of your career.
When you decide to leave perform subpar at work, and ask manager to put on "observation", if they don't put automatically, then resign during this period they will truncate the notice period.
My friend left Zensar using similar trick.

A bird in hand is better than two in the bush. This is true, especially during the current market conditions.

lot of people in same boat, if it's mnc accept it.. is it exl?
Take it buddy. Have been in the same boat and it's been 9 months now since I have joined, been looking all this while but it hasn't worked out anywhere else so this job gave me a nice cushion. The job market has become worse in the last 9 months so it was a good move for me.

Yes. Grab it for now. Wait for 2 to 3 quarters for market to stabilize if you want to switch.
