Miles to go before we sleep

Just visited Mumbai last weekend, it has somehow gotten worse over the last 5-6 years. Every 3rd or 4th road is either under construction or unusable. This girl from bumble legit defended Mumbai being safer than other metros literally after an illegal billboard fell on innocent people. The "spirit of Mumbai" is Stockholm syndrome, most of the victims/residents just don't know it or have grown numb to it. Every year people die on local train tracks and platforms, no one cares enough to do anything concrete about it. Mumbai and Bangalore are both spiralling towards being borderline unliveable. Delhi NCR too to an extent. But the unfortunate reality is that they are economic hubs, hence people are forced to work there. Decentralisation is the need of the hour, tier 2 and 3 cities must prepare themselves for reverse migration in the next few decades. I'm planning the same for myself if all goes well. It's not worth slowly dying in poisoned cities.

Just tell me ,how many companies are there in tier 2 cities(except tcs, infosys etc) ? You would have to leave job, and start your business or work remotely to move out of metropolitan cities. Then lot of questions arises, is your spouse ready to shift? how is the education in tier 2 cities for kids ? What kind of financial opportunities are there? How is the economic infrastructure? Grass always looks green on the other side.

The city in my mind does lack employment in terms of tech jobs, but there are other opportunities. Reliance retail head mentioned that spending patterns between tier 1 2 and 3 cities is very similar, that's why they replicate easily and grow. Even just opening up franchises of popular chains in tier 2 and 3 cities is a decent way of making money. There is spending power but not many local avenues to spend on. Just need to replicate what works in tier 1 and expand to tier 2 and 3 , maybe even beyond.

I also hope , opportunities open up in tier 2 city. The housing market , pollution level and lack of greenery in metro political cities is making lifestyle miserable The only way this will happen, if government starts to provide tax benefits to big corporates in tier 2 cities and people would start to migrate.

We need more cities. India is fucking most populated country on planet with very few cities. We need to build more cities. atal setu serves that purpose....create a satellite city near mumbai. It is a stepping stone. Will take time to materialize

Spirit of Mumbai is the spirit of slave class who are trapped in the biggest rat cage in Indian Ocean. I lived in Mumbai for 2 years in different locations, and honestly, the only thing that kept me there was work.

My hometown now has a metro but it didn't need one. Just needed more buses and better roads. Development for the sake of development is happening as well in many parts sadly.

Water Lays Off Bengaluru

TL;DR Silicon Valley is dry and dying in February. Almost 2cr people live in Bengaluru and outskirts, dependent on kaveri, borewell and tanker water. Kaveri water - Stalin and Sidda are busy in cage fight and at end they will abuse NaMo for this also. Lakes are exploited by corrupt politicians alongwith bbmp, bda and corrupt beaureaucrats. Borewell ain't working as climate change ruined water level due to shift in monsoon rain pattern. Tanker mafia again ready to loot. North India is lucky to have 3 all year river like ganges, indus and brahmaputra. Due to Himalayas glaciers they are all weather rivers Sadly south India has 3 major river like godavari, narmada and kaveri but all are monsoon river. Water was already having 1000 tds and now that water is also unavailable. I will never buy those shitty 1cr houses at Bangalore or even land due to this water crisis. What do u think Bengaluru lovers or haters?

Why does Bangalore have such pathetic roads?

I have lives in a lot of cities, both tier 1 and tier 2. But nowhere have i seen road quality as pathetic as in Bangalore. Even remote villages in UP have better paved roads. And living in Delhi, I had almost forgotten that potholes still exist. I really want to understand how the silicon valley of India has completely failed at building even an average level road infrastructure? Is it due to corruption or something else that we don’t know of?

I am tired

Tired of every fucking thing in this city. Born and brought up in this city. Life was good. However its not the same now. Fucking overpopulation, overcrowding, over expensive rent, food, where are we heading. Public transport is good, lol, try traveling for your 9-5 job. Roads are broken. Traffic is terrible. Monsoon about to worsen things more. A pm wants to conduct a rally in this city, and my 1.5 hours of travel turns out to be of 4.5 fucking hours. Have just watched 2people fall off the local train. Someone has to step in and please do something. Please stop the population from increasing. Please do something.

Living in Gurgaon makes living in BLR seem like heaven

I've been living in BLR all my life and been living in Gurgaon for about 4 months now because of company transfer. I thought BLR was bad until I came to Gurgaon. 1) The complete lack of apathy and compassion is off the charts here. People are so individualistic and small issues turn into huge fights. One example being a guy in a Fortuner hit my Hyundai hatchback from behind and screamed and made a scene when it was his fault and the guys all around supported him, I knew limited Hindi and I had to pay money to get the hell out of the place. 2) Climate and pollution: No words here. Extremely hot and polluted. 3) Rents have almost reached BLR levels or more 4) infrastructure: I thought BLR infra was shit but roads are non existent here and streets get water logged and stays waterlogged for 10 hours even after rains stopped lol. It feels like a dead City with no life, depressing and a concrete jungle.
