Not taken leaves in 5 years
Also not been sick whatsoever, even during covid. I don't know why. My job requires travel so I do get to spend time abroad. The last cycle, I ended up making an extra 20L from all the leave encashment paying out at once. That's now worth 24L from a small cap MF. Why does anyone bother with leaves if you are planning to retire before 40? I want to quit working while I'm still healthy.

Just another show off post. Self centric and one sided perspective.

Thanks for the hate. So do you think it's worth taking leave or taking encashment?

Your wish bro. Don’t ask for validation. It’s personal choice. There no formula for these things

Toh sir, apko leave nahi lene pe 20L mil raha toh apko lagta hai ki sabko mil raha hoga?
How is not taking leaves and early retirement making sense?

Because not taking leave = more money? It's the law.
I'm assuming everyone one grapevine is making 30L+

You are kind of answering it yourself. Constant work travel doesn't cause that much mental degradation that a desk job does and keeps your mind almost as clear as a vacation (which is more exemplified for international travel). The last 2 reasons are major reasons why someone takes leaves.
Secondly, it depends on the company culture. In many companies you simply cannot carry forward all of the annual personal leaves nor you can encash them. So the better option is to simply take leaves before renewal

makes a lot of sense. But I thought encashment was required by law? So thought everyone had the same choice

They could have it there by saying you can only encash them during notice period only
This post is meant to be on LinkedIn but OP was too high and posted on GV.
Damn you made bank. If you don't want to or need to take leaves, you've won.
Leave encashment ftw.
I have gotten a whole month's salary as an encashment.
Many folks who switched after COVID encashed all their leaves. A few friends raked in 2-3 months of salary on quitting, so about 3-6L.
Not all companies offer encashment above 30 leaves. Instead they encourage their employees to take leaves and they have a bar on number of leaves to be carried forward to next year which is 30 again. So, any leave not taken, is wasted.
🙃this doesn’t have to be a reason to take leave, just pointing this out.
Most of us take leaves coz we hate our job or want a breather. Family events, vacations, needing to take care of family…

And here I'm taking 2 single leaves a month at the bare minimum, and 5day continuous leave twice a year , ever since I've started working 🥳

Wish you stay healthy and achieve your goal.
A guy from my company posted a similar "I am Superman; I am loyal; I take no leaves" post on LinkedIn and it didn't go well 😂 like he expected. Our company has no vacation policy and hence no leave encashment.
