5 days?

This is absolutely meme material!! They declared that 75% of employees will work from home by 2025, and before even 2025, they reverted that and now claiming everyone to come to office all 5 days!! I mean not even Hybrid, but all 5 days!! How many companies still have 6 days working? I am in robotics/manufacturing in MSME, I have a 6 day Workweek, is it a general trend in manufacturing or general trend in MSME?

Will other companies follow TCS?

Companies have started posting bad things about wfh. Stuff like cultural integration is not achieved in this model. I call it bullshit. Asking employees work from the office is the easiest way to control attrition. COVID WFH saw record attrition , all thanks to remote work. Models are faster becoming business centric than employee centric , which is good , but competent employees must be given a chance to support their families by remote work.

Recently the CHRO of my company called me into a discussion on improving WORK LIFE BALANCE. Wow. I just cannot understand. Look at this. 1. Most companies work 5 days a week. (Except retail operations). So you get 52 weeks x 2. 104 days. 2. 30 days annual leav 3. 9 days statutory holidays. 4. Operational holidays. 3. 145 days of 365 days corporate people don’t come to office. And in a hybrid format even more. It is these corporate vultures who want work life Balance. How can u balance your life if u r unable to do it in 145 days. So Narayana murthy is right - work hard like 80% of india. Who have almost no weekly off. Just saying.

Not trying to be a critic here, nor trying to tarnish the reputation. But just wondering why does employee friendly policies like these change so quickly? Do investors and leaders get FOMO? Hey Amazon has called everyone to office so let's do it too. Or does the Work from anywhere policy was temporarily to attract good talent? FYI, this remote policy was scrapped within 1 year of implementing it.

At this rate not sure how many companies will continue WFH.
