Are you building a side project yourself?

Hey guys, I am looking for people or teams that are really interested in deep diving into blockchain space (I am talking about consensus, networking, finality etc). I am planning to attend a lot of hackathons where we can build stuff and present it. If anybody knows someone who is interested or any groups that are already there, please connect me to them or share link of groups. You might be wondering why I am asking this here, honestly I didn't find any place to ask this especially in India, also I really wanted to see if people are really there who are genuinely interested in building and learning not just doing it for the sake of resume.

I am at Microsoft and the work has become monotonous with minimal learning. I am thinking of doing a side project to sharpen my skills and then switch company. How to get started with a side project? Any ideas?

I love to read about tech and how startups evolved. Have spent a lot of time figuring out how the good product companies in the US got built: Google, FB, Instagram, Snap, Pinterest etc. etc. One thing stands out: A lot of these started out as just projects, and not a real startup. Instagram was just an idea to make photo filtering better. Reddit was just a project around making a cooler internet. They set off as projects, and got some traction before becoming funded startups. Because they had devs in the founding team, who were always doing projects as side hustles. This wasn't the time when SDE salaries were so pumped up, they didn't want to just become good devs, they probably wanted to solve real problems. My takeaway: Maybe Engineers shouldn’t be too incentivised to just code. They should be incentivised to think business. Thats how FB, Google, Insta etc happened as companies. In India, high pay endears engineers to stick to coding, do less business thinking. That’s why we don’t see too many coders posting their side projects on X, Reddit, GV within India. Maybe there just aren’t enough. Have just been thinking about this. Open to thoughts from the community - maybe my view is limited. Would love to hear.

Anyone here currently building or have any exciting ideas for personal projects? It can be a potential monetising ideas too.I tried doing some projects but couldn’t do it alone. My background : backend developer with 4 yoe. Primary stack node js and aws.

Decisions are the choices you make, I regret making one i.e. to not sit in campus placement since I was not interested in the job roles. It's been more than a year now, did full time for a stealth mode startup for 6 months that too unpaid. Market scenarios are very much resilient to freshers. Now I am at point, I can't settle for less. Like I want job role related to web development. I want to start my career as a Full Stack Developer. I have decent knowledge and experience. I just want to ask you all who ever's reading this, what a small advice you would want to give me in these times.

Bangalore is a lonely city. Even lonelier if you don't have friends whom you already know. Fortunately, I was lucky, and having lived here for 5 years since my college started here , I want to help! I'm creating a small community of folks in Bangalore where like-minded people can meet, talk, help, and become friends over good food! without having to spend much on meetups and apps to socialise. I Do not know why, even i feel lonely many times in this city, Lets create a community not restricted to particular area and create a home feeling for outsiders from Bangalore too, making our work, life, networks, pocket, purse, mind friendly. I have full stack development experience and I still code. I work with a product company on healthcare domain. I want to build something solo as a side hustle. And with the tech knowledge I have acquired, I am 100% confident I can build it. I’ve already gathered some mobile app/platform ideas and have been working on a few of them. Doing some research as well. The thing I lack is a strategy and direction to reach prospective users. I have no idea about how startups operate. I have never been into freelancing either. I know nothing about regulations and law. I have only a limited knowledge about investment. My short term plan is to finish building some MVP features of the apps and publish them to Playstore/AppStore. (I’m sorry, I do not wish to reveal the ideas now) How to reach users 0-1, 1-10 and 10-100? How should I plan financially? Isn’t it possible to go solo? I have someone in the US who has agreed to help me in coding. But he has only 2 years of experience. One advantage is he can give me US insights. I don’t want to induct more members as no one is ready for commitment. Or people just back out even after committing to it. Btw, I am not active on social media. My network in the internet world with people isn’t great. I’m seeking advice from you guys on areas that I need to consider to make my app/platform grow. All this, is going to be side hustle.

Hi, i am senior developer with 30 LPA, i am planing to switch as work is not exciting anymore what should be my realistic expectations? I have read post where people with same yoe get more money and other post where people get less money with same yoe.
