No opportunities :(

I'm from a tier 3 college and can't get my hands on good projects or cool teams to work with. My peers are bookworms and have no practical knowledge, I feel completely directionless atm🫠. Anyine know where I could look/ what I could do?

Which year are you in? If you're still in second year or third year, I'd recommend you to try out backend, frontend, mobile apps, etc., to get an idea and select the one you like the most.

If not, then try to write your own portfolio site. Make some projects, can simply list the projects you submit in college too but make them interesting. Write the blog posts about how you did the project and why you took a decision regarding code structure.

Then look for internship roles first. Get really good at DSA, and add Leetcode/Codeforces link in your resume. Take up an internship that's around 4-8 months long and build up your resume with what you did there.

I'm in 3rd year right now and I think yeah I'll follow what you've told me, since it's the perfect time for me to try for internships. I have to build a portfolio site, so il get started there and work upwards. I like frontend to start with, but I was just very confused, so yeah I'll see where this takes me. Thank you so much!!!
