55 LPA in India v/s 3.6L AED in Dubai - Confused.

In a bit of a dilemma.

I joined a well-known / well -funded startup in a mid level role 3 days back.

A Dubai based startup that I had previously interviewed with a few months back, got back to me with a 30k AED / month offer yesterday.

Questions -

  1. Is 30K AED a good salary for Dubai, considering what I make in India?
  2. Would it reflect badly if I leave the current company in the first week, considering I made them wait for 2 months of my joining (I don't see my role as super critical for them).

From a job role POV, the dubai role feels more fulfilling. The India role offers a better employer brand.

What are your thoughts on what I should do?

Talk to someone who is working in Dubai. Check your LinkedIn connection start with 1st order if no one then go to 2nd order connection connect with them and discuss the expenses.
On a separate note how to source Dubai opportunities any tips

I got this through a recruiter who had reached out. I have got 2 offers so far, both of them came through a recruiter (and weren't listed on any platform).

Best bet would be to reach out to recruiters or connect with them on LinkedIn.

  1. It’s okay to leave current company. Don’t feel too bad
  2. If you look forward to a life in Dubai go regardless of the salary. Altho mentioned salary looks good
  3. Do you have a family? Do consider costs of running a family in Dubai as that can be very high in Dubai along with other additional expense

Friend is in Dubai. 3.6L AED is not good. The growth opportunities in UAE are very less compared to India. 3.6L is somewhat 75LPA in INR. Obviously there will not be any tax in UAE so that’s a positive.
Cost of living is high in Dubai. If you saving double of what you can save in 55L here then it would make sense according to me otherwise not.

If your priority is money go to Dubai If it’s growth stay in India

Check ppp post tax in both places and decide.

My current sense is that, I would save more in India v/s talking a Job in Dubai at this salary (But I can be wrong).

Would you happen to know living expenses in Dubai? My expenses in India are around 2L/month.

I am married, no kids. Wife works in India, not sure what employment prospects here are going to be there.
