How to start spending money on urself

Every month my salary gets credited I barely spend 20% of it the rest of it is just sitting around in my bank account it's already above 5L. I keep thinking of investing it in stocks/mf but it's a lot of work 😔 What do you guys do with your salary, it would be great if you can share your investment strategy and how do you keep yourself motivated to stick to it

Hey folks, I'm a recent graduate, got a job at a startup and the base will be <15, >10. Shifted to Bangalore (more like returning after 6 years, lived for 4 years before that). Since I'll be starting my full time journey soon, I want to know how you guys split your take home salary into needs, wants, luxury, savings, investing etc. Currently, I'm in a rented flat in HSR (my split is 7k) and will rent out/buy some home appliances. Food would be around 10k a month (no maid, all outside). I just want to know your experiences on spending and handling money. Not that I'm bad at it, but this is the start of my journey and I would like to know how other people manage their money, so I'd know if I have to tweak some things. Do tell any strict DOs/DONTs, common mistakes.

I grew up in a family which used to be just above poverty line. My mom had worked a lot to provide making 7K a month. I now have a job that pays 15lpa. Other than good food on table I'm not sure what i should do with the money. I save everything left after removing house expenses Which is 75% of my income. I know saving is good but i don't want endup saving a huge pile and dying without using any of it.i want to exprfi6good things. How did you guys spend when you tried to raise from almost poor to a decent standard of living

I am a fresher earning roughly 1 cr post tax. I started investing a little late but I am now consistent with my SIPs which I started at the age of 8 by saving 500 a month of my school bus fare and pooling a ride in my father's car with a step up of 10% every year. There was no driver so that we could save some money and put it in a fixed deposit every year. I stay at my home so that I can save some rent. I don't get the privacy that a fresher looks for because my family is mostly out of the country and I had to get 24 hrs house help. But I am okay with it. Nobody gets everything. Now I am paying around 48 lacs as income tax. What am I doing wrong and how to spend money wisely. And how can I make sure that I get paid according to the market standards and not get exploited by the system. PS: is buying a new iphone 15 worth it as gold plated iphone 15 pro max is very costly.

I come from a poor background, but somehow I worked extremely hard and now I earn decently well (above 60 LPA cash). My problem is- I don’t mind spending on others. In fact I don’t even think twice before taking my card out and buying things for family or friends. I have also lent money to multiple people when they are in need of help (total close to about 2-3 lakhs). But it doesn’t bother me even a bit. I don’t even care about whether I’ll get it back or not. But, when it comes to me, I find myself struggling so much and questioning my decision to buy things even as cheap as INR 200-300. And most of the times I find myself going extra miles to save a few bucks. In fact, I also recently downgraded from a bigger to smaller apartment, because I have been doing so much maths around saving 7-8K a month. Maybe there is some part of me that feels that I don’t deserve any of this. Anyone has any idea how to fix this?

My current phone is almost 4 years old so I am in dire need of a new one, most of my friends/colleagues are buying Iphone and recommending me the same(since it has best camera + brand value) but for me spending most of my salary on a phone seems absurd....

I'm 35 and have barely started saving. Is it too late to catch up, or should I just plan on working forever? Between student loans, rent, and the general cost of living, retirement savings always fell to the bottom of the list. Now I'm freaking out. Late bloomers in the savings game, how are you tackling retirement planning?

Coming from Middle class family, I have hardly seen any investment strategy or advice from my parents. But to all youngsters, please start investing early in your career, rather than pushing for new home & expensive cars, iPhones. Don’t need to invest in stocks & trading but start a step-up SIP with 500₹ Small Cap MF, that will support you in long term.

I am a middle class boy. Working in Banglore. I am earning 1.5L every month from last 3 yrs. But still I don't have a penny saved. I have to give all my money to my parents. They have huge debts and to avoid extra expenses i am working from home. It is killing my social skill but i am prioritising money over my social skills. I see my friend going to trips all around the world and while me scrolling through Instagram all the time looking at their photos. Still using my college phone and not upgraded to i phone, Uninstalled all shopping apps for unnecessary shopping are some steps I took to save extra money. The point is sometimes i feel proud to help my family to come out of this situation, but in the other hand i am losing the most important time of my life. I really feel this time i pushing me back by 5 yrs and really don't know what to do...

I have reached this number after working for over 11 years I know disciplined investing/saving works wonders.
