Microsoft Data Scientist interview format

Hi, I am preparing for data science interview. I don't have a call yet but want to be well.prepared before applying at MS. Can someone please provide detailed guidance on the interview type and questions?

How are most of the data scientist or mle interviews at faangmula/big tech/unicorns like? Is it leetcode cosing style or SQL or ml algos or stats or python based questions?

Hi Guys, I am attending an interview process for Lead Data Science. I want to know the previous experiences with to improvise my interview experience. The company having 5 rounds and each round is an elimination (the scary part). First round is DSA and Data Science fundamental. Where I have learnt DSA 5years ago and now I’m out of practice. For Data Science it might be more like ML (I assume). Second round is System Design, which will be more on designing system and scalability Third round is more off Technical And Managerial around. 4th round is managerial round 5th round is HR discussion I want to know where to prepare for all the rounds and what’s the efficient way to prepare for it.

I have 2.5 years of experience and my system design round of Microsoft is in 2 days. They can ask me high level and low level design both. I haven't ever studied anything related to high level system design. I have really less time to prepare. Can someone guide me how do I proceed? Or if someone has appeared for Microsoft's system design round can they tell me what kind of questions can I expect?

Hi , I got codility test from MICROSOFT. I want to understand what is the level of question asked in coding round . Also if someone can help me understand difficulty level of system design rounds as well and any preparation guide for same. Thanks

I have been interviewing with Microsoft since late March 2024, possibly for an SE2 position. There is no HR involved. Engineers/Managers from Washington and Hyderabad call me or email me and schedule my interviews. Round 1 (Mar last week): Technical Round 2 (Apr first week): Technical Round 3 (Apr 2nd week): Technical Round 4 (Apr last week): HM Surpisingly, there is a round 5. Round 5 (May second week): Technical/HM My 5th interviewer said that there is going to be a 6th round of interview as well, by the manager of 5th interviewer. He also said, "Hoping that we will work together soon." As of the date of writing this post, my 5th interview was almost 3 weeks ago. I asked my 5th interviewer for an update and I got a response saying: "Sorry for the delayed response. I was so busy with many work items. At the moment we are on hold and we will reach out to you once we have the confirmation." After my 3rd round of interview, there was a gap of 2 weeks as well, and upon aksing my 3rd round of interviewer about an update of my candidature, he told me something similar. It did upset me but I did have a 4th round as well. Given Microsoft is hiring a lot right now, I feel confused why my candidature is on hold. I feel very frustrated and desperate for the offer. Because I am new to this, I would appreciate if anyone here, can help me with their experience ,what could be going on? PS: All my interviewes were extreamly well.

Role: Data scientist It's my 2nd round but I am clueless what else they are going to ask!?
