What happened since the last 70 years
I usually don't share LinkedIn content but this one was on point
And yet we don't have a seat at the big boys table - UNSC
We are still treated as shit across the globe even though we have expats working in nearly all big companies and institutions globally.
All this romanticized bullshit sounds endearing but holds no sway. Just because some song or movie is famous worldwide doesn't mean people of that country support or respect us.

Wasn't it India itself who refused a seat at the table many years ago?
UN is pretty much a joke now anyways, shell company for China projects basically. I don't think UNSC matters as much as people think.
Neither did they do anything about Russia, nor Israel. What's even the point then?

Just like most narratives, here also facts not align with the story. All anecdotes, not a single objective fact. "More than 5 correspondents.." Amazing. What was the growth rate that decade? Or those 50 years?

Buddy, you might want to look at how many Indians now run companies and hold board seats in America and other countries.
It wouldn't have been possible without a good education at the least. The post talks about presence and influence of India in the global stage despite all odds, not GDP growth. That wasn't the point.

This post wants to justify how India was always at the helm of world affairs which simply isn't true. We weren't for ~50 years of our independence. Nobody knew about India, nobody cared about India. We had lost wars against one of our neighbours and were being strategically dominated by another. Our population was still meaningful, but we weren't anywhere in the discussion economically. We were probably then, the tenth most important Asian country, behind Japan, East Asian Tigers, China..
Despite all odds? What a joke! Why do think that we had poorer odds? When we got independence, we were in a great position to dominate Asia at least. See where China was, where Japan was, where Korea/Thailand/Sgp were. There's nothing to glorify about those 50 years. It's a black hole. We lost all advantage. We were in such a bad shape, we defaulted on our Int'l commitments. We had to ship gold just to pay back our loans.

Bruh he just talked about elites living their lives and west simping, and no hard talk about the ground level reality and impact. This is truly the Congress mindset.
His name is Subodh Mathur, who is kinda infamous on Quora. So I don't know why you removed his name.

It is not just elites who left India and settled abroad. It is working class people who took huge risks.
The ground level impact was that today everyone knows Indians and tech are synonymous. So many major MNCs have Indians at the leadership. Even Chinese and Japanese origin folks aren't as prominent as Indians are in leadership roles.
It's not a joke, definitely shouldn't be taken lightly. UK just had an Indian origin PM, I wonder if we will see the day UK chooses a Chinese or Pakistan origin PM.
Lol you think everybody packed their bags to west? And that anyone can move, just have to take "risk"? Hilarious.
And why should one move to west in the first place? Your definition of success is moving west. No wonder you cross-posted Subodh Mathur, you are of the same thinking.
Indians and tech are synonymous only in a bubble and face-to-face convo. An average look at Reddit (we know what the major demographic is) will burst your bubble. Chinese have better tech than India.
You are just simping for nothing. Snap out of it. These Indian tech CEOs didn't make the digital infrastructure on which India's progress runs, nor did these CEOs wanted to change the mindset in India which the current government changed.
Stop simping and come back to India from your bubble. The government is getting a third term and increasing its seats simply because people have been affected by the ground level impact. That is an undeniable fact, unless you think the Indian populace is stupid, which just shows your elitist Congressi mindset.
