Rejected After clearing all the rounds at Apple

I've recently appeared for the Interview at Apple. Total 7 rounds and last round was with the HR. Till 6th round feedback was quite positive and in the 7th Round there was discussion that happened about Salary expectation. HR mentioned that she will check and get back with approved numbers and If I'm okay then they will proceed with releasing the offer letter. So I was expecting the same. But One week later HR called and rejected me saying that another Candidate is selected for this role. I was heartbroken and devastated. When I asked for the feedback, She said they cannot share the feedback it's just that they felt another candidate is better fit than me so they are going ahead with that candidate. On the very next day of my rejection call, they opened the Same position again in the Careers site. After 2 weeks again I called the same HR to understand If I could apply for the open position. She said that the Careers site it posted wrongly, the open position is not for my experience but it's for more experienced/senior Level. I could think that HR is not being transparent. This time again I asked for feedback, what went wrong or what could have been better, to which she replied that I was not clear on certain things and I was not transparent. Background is : After 6 rounds were done, HR called me suddenly one day and informed me that I cleared all the rounds and asked me for the expectation. I thanked her and asked about the Role (IC3 or IC4 or IC2) that I would likely get So that I can do some research and get back. She said she doesn't have clarity yet on the Role and mentioned mostly it would be IC3. So I asked her for some time to get back and 2 hours later I discussed my expectations. Then a week later, the Rejection call. Not sure what went wrong. In my most recent call she mentioned that for some simple questions like expectations I was not giving answers properly. It's been 3 weeks and I still could not come out of that rejection.

Ah man, been there - that must hurt; these decisions are irrational a lot of times, makes no sense :/ Stay strong and lost lose the spirit, if you can convert 6 rounds at Apple you can do it elsewhere also 🙌🏼

This hurts the most Happened with me at Google Cleared all interviews. Like 4 rounds and everything was done. They said they are just wrapping up the process. And then they said we selected someone else cuz they had an MBA and was more qualified, both of you were good. Hurt me like anything. But I knew then that it's not the company for me.

I had a similar experience in a leading company, after all interviews on video they called for in-person meeting. I went to their office and waited as their Director was in back to back meetings. Later they said sorry Director won’t have time today, they will contact me later. After that no calls or response. Later I came to know that they hired someone internally. I personally think people should have courtesy to at least provide update. How they would feel if we do the same after selection.

I have been there too. I even thought how can they even reject me after an HR round but HR rounds are most critical rounds actually where they test you are a job fit culture fit or not. Also they check your behaviour and personality completely before proceeding with your profile.And sometimes they find someone who negotiates a lesser package and settles down to what they want to offer and they reject you.

Had the first round with HPE VP (Product). For senior PM role where the candidate should have experience with building data pipeline and data tools. I have the same. The interview went well. I spoke about how i helped business building the pipelines and platforms. While discussing, i said that i once in a while code as well. Later i found that i was rejected. Not able to comprehend, what went wrong here. Can someone share your thoughts?

Hello grapeviners. I was recently interviewing at a big MNC and gave 5 rounds of interviews. (4 Tech, 1 Managerial). I did fairly well in the interviews (according to me). Got rejected in the end and received no feedback... Just a generic rejection mail. How do you guys keep up with failures like these? Whenever I give interviews at a good company and perform well, I tend to imagine myself as a future employee in that company and how my life would be after joining there... and it really breaks my heart when I get rejected. This happened to me few times before as well and I still have no idea how to move on from feelings like these. Really interested to know what do you folks do in situations like these... How do you calm yourself down?

Weird recruiter experiences

I'll go first. I got a call for an APM role from one of the companies which did sound pretty sketchy and the recruiter was started bullying me into answering questions, when I asked to know more about the role. The recruiter was extremely unprofessional, and obviously the conversation was nowhere great. They however, did go ahead and sent me the JD and other links, etc to fill in and apply for the job. Mind you, I hadn't applied for the job. 🥲 It just was a pretty sour conversation which had left me in an uncertain situation. Any similar experiences?

Why do companies ghost after interviews?

Recently started giving interviews and cleared a few rounds in a couple of companies. I never heard back from any of them even if I felt the interviews went well. Very frustrated because of this as I fail to understand how difficult is it to just reject or send a rejection email if they don't want to hire. I understand that companies have 100s of candidates in their pipeline but it's so frustrating to not even get any rejection mail and get stuck in a limbo.

Fuck these interviewers and HRs

I recently gave a technical interview and everything went well. I couldn't answer a couple of questions but I'd say it was a 95/100 if I had to rate it. No idea why I got rejected. HR has ghosted me. Fuck these interviewers and the HRs that manage these things. Entitled motherfuckers. When somebody doesn't qualify for a role, have the basic decency to write them a rejection email stating what they could've done better, or just a rejection email. It doesn't take that long.

Frustrated about not getting the job

Just got a updated from hiring manager that they have some selected another candidate and if there is another opening you will be hired without any rounds. Interview process - 2 HR rounds, 2 manager rounds, 1 aptitude. (took around 3 week) I was like why God why? Why someone's second choice 😭 Feeling bad about it very bad.

Not able to get into HR rounds after doing well in technical interviews. Comp1: cleared 5 technical rounds. They asked me to come in person for a particular date, informed me that date and time will be informed later. After a week got rejection mail. Comp2: Done well in the technical round. Profile was in process status in the company portal for the last 45 days. Today I got a rejection mail. Mera life ithna kharab hogaya.... Ithna kharab hogaya..

Constant rejection, ghosting by HR after qualifying technical rounds

Hi Grpeviners, I've given so many interviews. Qualified technical rounds for many but have been ghosted several times. Like the HR stops receiving my calls or they say at the end that sorry we want someone to join within 45 days. Sometimes they say, sorry we got some candidate from our organization and list is never ending. I feel very disheartened due to this ongoing scenario. Why is this happening to me, what should I improve in myself? Am I out of budget, notice period? Please help!
