Interview Rejection
Hello grapeviners.
I was recently interviewing at a big MNC and gave 5 rounds of interviews. (4 Tech, 1 Managerial). I did fairly well in the interviews (according to me). Got rejected in the end and received no feedback... Just a generic rejection mail.
How do you guys keep up with failures like these? Whenever I give interviews at a good company and perform well, I tend to imagine myself as a future employee in that company and how my life would be after joining there... and it really breaks my heart when I get rejected. This happened to me few times before as well and I still have no idea how to move on from feelings like these.
Really interested to know what do you folks do in situations like these... How do you calm yourself down?
Ex-founder and CEO here, started my own company, build it with blood and sweat, unfortunately had to close down operations in October.
I applied for relevant roles (mostly product), didn't even get a response, no calls, no emails, no interviews.
Hope that helps
5 rounds is a lot. Gettinf rejected after 5 rounds would wreck my brain too. I just start applying at other places and try to take my mind off of it.
Recently, I experienced rejection after six rounds. One thing that keeps me calm is reminding myself that 'this will only make me stronger.' Over the years, I've learned to embrace rejection, building a thick skin so that these setbacks don't matter at all.
I remind myself what didnt work out for me, worked out for me. It didn’t work out because there is something better out there. And you at least from your side of things, did the best you could. I talk to friends, cry it out and take myself out for a nice meal too. Got to celebrate your resilience before getting back to the search.
I hope things work out for you soon. Hugs, friend.
