Salary progression at FAANG

What does refresher for FAANGM look like at different levels?

Contemplating between an offer at Google vs a Series A startup, in India, with similar pay. I'm curious to know if Google as a name on the resume (or for future prospects) is still as big as it was maybe 5-8 years ago? Or is India just a low cost employee centre for them and it'll always be down-the-stream work, at the whims of middle/senior managers? YoE: 4 Role: Analytics Happy to hear any thoughts (and answer any questions)!

The FAANG and unicorn employee salaries for even 2-7 YOE engineers is quite insane compared to the average Indian employee pay in other sectors of the economy. The average SDE2 at these companies makes 50+ lakhs per year in compensation (not “CTC” but real money) The average SDE3 makes 80+ lakhs which is frankly insane. What are you guys doing with all that money?

I’m not sure how to say this, I’m currently interviewing with Google India for L5 role and have one of the round scheduled next week. After yesterday’s layoff news, I checked with my recruiter and says we’re still on for next week’s interview. Can anyone in Google India share some insights about recent layoffs. Thanks
