Bangalore folks!
An observation and a thought that popped in my mind today. Why do people go to the office by Car? When only they are alone in the car? I mean, they can always use two-wheelers to commute and Bangalore weather is good enough to drive a two-wheeler(only if they ain't living very far from the office, like more than 10-11kms) . This might reduce the traffic a lot during office times. This is just my POV. Please no hate comments, but I'd like to know from someone their view as well.
Car is much safer and less tiring to drive. It helps if it rains or if it's too hot.
What you said is absolutely correct and on point, but in my view there can be people who love to drive car , because the experience is entirely different. I have both two-wheeler and car but prefer car because I love to drive car. Though I'm not in Bangalore in NCR currently.
Also, there can be strata of people who prefer more safety especially for women being in a car would be a more safer option then in two-wheelers. Some may even prefer cars over two-wheeler for being in more comfort and leisure.
Actually in my view there are lots of things that I feel can be corrected using basic conscience like people burning crackers in NCR even when aqi was in alarming condition, I'm sensitive to pollution and still have to deal with it, suffer a lot during winter months but it is how it is, cannot control what others do. Just living in this society, mostly people aren't sensitive to others nowadays.

It's majorly because everyone thinks nothing will change if they give up their car and choose a less comfort option. Even if I go in a two wheeler or public transport, my neighbour will still go in a car and add to the traffic. If I have to wait in a traffic, then I prefer car over bike.
Okay, that's a great point of view. But when you travel by car, don't you have to start way too early to reach the office/somewhere? It's a thing that I know I'll be stuck in traffic but let's choose more time to spend in traffic?
Specific to Bangalore.
1. Used as an extension to office. E.g start from office at 7 when you have a meeting that starts then. Bangalore traffic makes sure that you don’t have to actively drive, you are mostly crawling behind the next driver.
2. The drive is the only time some folks have to decompress away from responsibilities of family and work. The car is like a sanctuary and the drive, meditative.
3. They are into jobs where decision fatigue matters and riding a 2 wheeler puts more strain than driving.
4. Status signaling. eg My boss upgraded his SUV as soon as 2 of his reportees bought SUV’.
5. Health and safety concerns. Slip on a bike and you pay with you skin, skid in a car and you can throw money at that problem.
6. Some folks have become completely incompatible with our social fabric. They don’t want to be rubbing shoulders with the delivery guys..
For point 5, and for the people who mentioned "for safety" , I guess we have heard a lot of news nowadays where people are attacking the cars without any reasons by simply just blocking the way and destroying the windshield/windows by throwing stones. But never heard people attacking the other two wheelers unless there's an accident or someone did something wrong.

If you are concerned about others commuting alone in a four-wheeler, suggest car pooling
1. For safety reasons,
2. one should not ride a two-wheeler during the rainy season
3. because of hair/helmet issues.
