Stocks offered

My current comp is around 45lpa and 30lpa in stocks. A seed stage startup is offering me 30lpa in cash and 25lpa in stocks. I really feel that this startup can go places. Any advise?

How common is probation in big tech firms or startups, I am about to join a startup and they have probation of six months mentioned in offer letter, is it a red flag or is it pretty common. During probation, they wont have any notice period. Tc 65 Yoe 4

A 2 yrs old small B2C startup has put the following conditions along with offer letter to my friend: 1. 6 months probation period. 2. 7 days notice period during probation. 3. 7 leaves during probation. 4. ESOPs will be given after 3 months of performance evaluation. 5. No WFH (might get on situation basis), might need to work on Saturdays as well if required. there are about 15 tech team members, they are in the growth phase right now. are these conditions normal for a small startup? what else does he need to find before joining?

My background: 2024 grad, intern at an startup in Bengaluru, internship extended for 3 months recession is the reason told, no chance of fte. Now, getting an offer from a startup. Team of 15-16 people. Pre seed stage startup. Will be building product from scratch. Lots of learning. Offering decent hike and since i m part of first team...getting small equity too. Should I join this offer? I m confused. But also thinking...it is risky but a lot to learn and growth potential is v high. Tell what do u guys think??

About me: 25M working in a super early stage startup for 1yr. The startup is only 2 yrs old with seed funding. 2 pivots, but none worked. The 3rd pivot is interesting and we still don't know if it'll work I want to understand the life of an Early employee, how do you manage to keep hope, or when to call it quits? Have vested esops. Also feel if I can get 1.5X cash salary if i switch

Hi all, As the title suggests, I want to know if there are consequences associated with quitting a company in just 3 weeks. I've joined an early stage startup as one of the first few hires in the product team. The pay and work is reasonably okay. WLB is also good. But one of the companies I was interviewing during my NP from called me back, conducted one more interview and now I have a better offer in hand. This new company is a fintech giant and objectively it makes no sense for me leave this offer. I'm stuck in a situation now where I'm getting super anxious to initiate this conversation with my current manager about leaving in just 3 weeks. Can someone help me with this? Please share your experiences if possible. Thanks a lot.

I recently got an offer from a seed stage startup for a SDE2 role. They shared the offer in a 2 liner mail. Weirdly enough they have a probation period of 3 months which could also be extended to 6 months during which there'll be no paid leaves, nothing, and you cannot be late to the office any day. I asked them to share the detailed offer letter with all these verbal probation clauses penned down and they've not replied for a week. After getting the offer, they asked me to submit my adhar card, pan card, 10th, 12th marksheet, graduation certificate, passport, birth certificate, payslips, previous offer letter, resignation mail, proof of bonuses and all sorts of documents. It's funny how they think trust only works one way. I've withdrawn the application as there were too many red flags during the entire process. I really wish the Indian corporate system had an open culture where trust is bidirectional and not act like we're at the mercy of their job.

Hi everyone, I joined a startup back in May which started in May itself. I wrote the first line of code and it has been the backend work since then and have hired a few interns along the way. I took some pay cut to join this startup and i didn't receive any share/ESOPs as well in my offer letter. but whenever i talk to my friends who have worked or are working in these types of companies, ask me to ask for the ESOPs/equity from my founder. I did talk about equity/ESOPs before accepting my offer letter but that time, they said, you will be issued ESOPs later on when we raise some funding. We will make some ESOPs plan when we raise funding. I know that our company has only raised friends and family round of amount near to 1cr. Now I need advice on.. should i bring up this conversation again with the company's founder ? And how much percentage of equity should I be asking..? given that I am giving my 101% daily and leading the backend team.. although i have industry experience of only 3 years but have good academic achievements and has completed graduation in computer science in tier-1 college.
