In first internship the whole department I was working in got laid off and hence was I In second one the company was not able to find a good PMF and had to shut down the app. First one was SaaS and a notable company in the ecosystem and second one was a fintech who raised $2 Million in funding in 2022 from a notable VC.

I joined TCS 3yrs ago and since then I couldn't switch. I am planning since last year March but actually not able to work on it. Even I couldn't apply actively. Currently I am involved in a role which has nothing to do with development and I feel bit less confident. So I want to know why it is so hard to leave? Does everyone feel same? Is this ecosystem somewhat responsible for this?

During my B.Tech, I balanced my studies with active participation in clubs and committees, and also engaged in sports and exploration. Aspiring for a non-core placement, I didn't participate in hackathons or apply for internships. After graduation, I pursued various paths, including preparing for the CAT exam with only three months of preparation time, but I didn't succeed. I then applied to several companies for data analytics roles but kept making new mistakes in each attempt. In one instance, I was rejected for oversharing my passion for data science in a final interview. To improve my chances, I optimized my resume and completed significant projects, but these efforts haven't yet yielded the desired results. Realizing the challenges of relying on a single target, I also started preparing for the GATE exam. Reflecting on my journey, I recognize that I should have applied for on-campus opportunities, as off-campus job hunting is challenging and unpredictable, regardless of one's preparation. Tell me your story? In order to get some hope that we can make it and it's never too late

Hey everyone, heading into my first internship this summer, no other work experience and want to hear from full time employees on the lesser known things that secure the return offer. By this I mean things other than being able to adapt to work, ask questions, not making same mistake over and over - basically the things that aren't talked about but from your perspective really makes huge a difference in your opinion on the intern. For these 6 months I have given my day n night to this job only to get to know that due to no projects in pipeline they are not going to convert any of the interns to full time. I don't know why everyone is making a big deal out of layoffs. Even the ones who laid off are not that concerned than the ones who comment. Laid off employees literally get free money upwards of 10 lakhs in many cases of senior developers who are laid off from top tech startups. Companies pay severance equal to 3-6 months salary of laid off employees. Some even offer other benefits as well. I personally know a couple of Devs who got around ~9-10L in severance pay. So, yeah if there are layoffs happening in funded tech startups or leading tech companies, considering their pay range, laid off employees get handsome severance pay including employee benefits

Just wanted to see general sentiment. Coming from a tier 1 clg in du most roles offer between 50-80k base, not including variable. Also do mention the field you've gotten into, thanks.
