Laptop ban??

I am aware the title is mushy. After reading ET and Indian Express this morning, I'm still not very clear on the exact situation. Bkl word count bhadane me lage hain 🤦🏻 - Is the ban completely in effect or will be by 1st Nov? - Is it even a ban or are we being misguided by headlines again? How could it affect us? I was planning to buy a laptop, GPU and Monitor after some saving. Seems like I'd have to rush before prices jump up. Or go back to my i3-2120 🥺. Very interesting that this overlaps nicely with launch of 🤮 JioBooks. Helping their sale in lower price segment.

Hello folks 👋 I want to buy a laptop for personal usage. I will be using it mostly for media consumption and web dev. I have had a very bad experience with windows laptops in terms of hardware and battery life after a year of usage. Should I buy a MacBook Air with 16gb ram / Macbook Pro or should I trust a non apple laptop and slap a Linux distro on it call it a day ? Please share your experience or the machine you guys are using. Ps- I am using a 16 inch Mac with M1 pro and 16gb ram but I feel I am not using it to its full potential hence it might be a waste of money for a personal laptop Thank you 🙏

Hi everyone, I’m curious—do you use your personal laptop or your company-issued one for personal tasks? I’m considering buying a new 15” MacBook Air (around 70k INR with an exchange bonus), but I’m wondering if it’s worth it since I can do almost everything on the company laptop(MacBook pro m1). Is it really necessary to spend that amount? What do you all think? Do you prefer using your company laptop or your personal one for personal tasks? Recently, our company has been preparing for an IPO, so they’ve started tracking activity and blocking some sites. I’m unsure if it’s still wise to use the company laptop for personal stuff. P.S. If you do use a personal laptop for certain tasks, why not use the company one for those instead?

futures wise it's far far behind windows then why do people use it ?

I’m in search of a good laptop around 60k range but I’m flexible in increasing that if I get good suggestions. I mostly will need it for coding and video editing work. My usage might be heavy.
