Tesla manufacturing in India would be interesting. I hope they get serious about launching in India too
They wanted to launch (read test waters) China-made cars in 2010s but govt blocked them for selling unless they do investments domestically. I think after looking at sales from Tatas, MGs and broader EV infra , they got some confidence.
I still believe Tesla should not be allowed. Gobarmint is making a big mistake. Tesla is valued for its data and not it's cars. We don't want to give free testing data and live feed of Indian roads, and sell one more aspect of core infra to yet another American company.
