Where to buy an apartment in Bangalore?
I have a budget of 1cr. I’d probably stay there for as long as I have to go to office. But that could change at some point. I am not a Bangalore native so I will go back to my native place. So I’d like to buy in good areas where it can actually be a good investment too. What builders to target? What areas to target? Any bad experience you’ve had with any builders or anything that you’d like to share.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news, investment residential real estate is dead in Bangalore. May be commercial is better for investment. One has to buy second house in Bangalore only if he/she earns 4 times the equivalent amount every year.
Why do i say this? The price you pay for a second house, you can retire to a T2 city , where you will earn enough on interest from FD. Anybody who talks to you about Tax benefits, appreciation in values, are either parties with vested interests or do not know the basics of Financial management.
If I were to get an apartment to go to my office, I’d have to pay 40-50k rent which otherwise could be my loan emi repayment right? I can also do a downpayment. And I have seen the appreciation of apartments near metro area booming like crazy. People buying 1bhk for 60L near Hoodi and selling for 1cr.

the appreciation due to metro is almost over. everybody knows where the metro line is now. prices are now built into.
If you take a house at a lower rent than paying EMI, then gives you flexibility to move with jobs, since you have plans to move out eventually.

Sobha, embassy, prestige, sattva are some of the top builders.
If you’ve made up your mind about buying, you can consider north Bangalore. In a few years, metro would be active. You will have equal access to the city and the airport. Plus better ground water availability.
Yes, north is definitely better than whitefield/east. They've already over inflated matchboxes without water or road in whitefield to nonsensical prices!

Don't buy a flat in bengaluru. Water has ran out and any amount of rain won't be suffice to recharge water table. Pay rent as long as you think job prospects better here then shift to hyd or other better places. Don't pay 1/ 2cr for desert
