I am really feeling bad and stuck, I am not getting what to do next after 14 yrs of IT Experienced. Facing difficulties and not getting good opportunities to up skill and not being able to manage work and family. I don't have soft skills to move to management or client face role, solution architecture. I am feeling my career going to end. Kindly suggest me.

I am planning to shut down my IT services company after 5 years of operations. The journey has been bitter-sweet but it is becoming unsustainable and putting me under a great amount of duress. I have been a trained ML engineer but since my startup have gone on to taking up mostly non-programming roles/ work. I have tried getting back to development role but have not been able to get back in the same stride as I used to. Lately, I’ve been picking up some consulting work as a Software Architect. Basis, that info, need some advice on how I can plan my professional journey ahead.

I have over 15 years of experience working in IT and feel stuck here with no growth. At this juncture I am worried if I can get any offers outside as my skills are not great and I feel someone with around 5 years exp can do. Most of the work I did is a middle man work between business and developers either a lead or manager etc. any suggestions? On what path should I choose?

I am 32, and I am currently working in IT support (Incident/problem management. I have currently working in my company for 7 years, and I am currently very much underpaid even though my managers and management are happy with my work. I have tried to switch into the same domain in another companies but they are expecting me to lower down the salary, and then I came to know that this job role doesn't yield much and growth is dead end. So, I am looking to switch into Devops since I find it interesting after exploring other options. May I ask whether it is possible to make a switch after 11 years in the IT industry and how much realistically it is possible? I would appreciate your suggestion and feedback. Thank you

Hello corporate "hustlers," I am one of you, but my hustle is filled with a lot of chaos. I'm reaching out for help as I’ve been trying to figure things out for the last few years, and now it’s high time I sought advice here. I belong to the COVID-19 batch and graduated in journalism and mass communication from Chandigarh University. During the pandemic, our business suffered great losses, and currently, I am the only one earning for my family. I've been extremely unlucky with jobs and now feel exhausted and ready to quit. In the last three years, I’ve worked with four different companies, lasting a maximum of 7-8 months at each. Presently, I am employed at a company where I have to monitor campaigns 24/7. My teammates and I constantly face hate and pressure from management to either quit or deliver results. Imagine this: my salary is 40k, but my monthly revenue target is close to 1 crore. It’s a terrible situation. I have to create subpar campaigns on Google AdWords to generate traffic and clicks. Sometimes, we’re even asked to use provocative images to attract an audience. There’s no control over things—it’s purely luck-based right now, and we get blamed every day. I want to change my job, but every company rejects me due to my experience and short tenures. They want someone who has been stable in their roles. I don’t know what certifications to pursue, what skills to learn, or who will hire me after doing all this. I am tired of this. Can someone please help me with any suggestions or guidance? Thank you.

Hello All..I have been a consultant for the last 9+ years working on the same industry tool. Recently the tool got migrated and all our IT experience has become meaningless . Having a difficult time looking for projects and not getting any calls. I am absolutely fine with reskilling/upskilling and I even started learning and acquiring the certifications.The problem is that we need to have some hands-on experience in the new technologies along with certifications and then only we can get any project.

Currently have 10years of experience and am at cross roads of next steps in career. Need help from senior folks here to know pros and cons on either directions I have a chance to move up the ladder Want to know career opportunities say next 10-20 years and pay as well. As for me, love hands on tech but scared how long can I sustain the mojo. People management wise not bad but need to learn many steps in there to become great. If it’s of any help current TC: 60L

I'm working in service based company in worst tech (acc to me ). There are not enough projects still they hire so many freshers . Current now I'm 1 year 3 months exp I'm doing self study of data engineer and done some decent project . Should I plan for internal switch or look for outside opportunities. Will I get atleast mid senior role outside?(im planning after 2 years exp) I don't wanna start again in entry level. What checklist should I follow to successful switch. I didn't get any hike for my first year( that's y I'm planning all this) I respect every advice and criticism in my plan Thanks in advance.

General question to all the folks who are in IT industry for more than 10 years. What do you think your career path in IT will be after the age of 50 years considering AI and Automation. Also as we move up the ladder the number of roles decreases significantly. For more experienced people switching different companies also becomes quite difficult. What is your backup plan for this?

Hi, I have almost 8 YOE in software development. I was in my comfort zone and spent 6.5 years in a service based Indian MNC on a legacy project, where I only did what was assigned. I don't think I have good skills in the technology I was working on. Then I switched and I wasn't informed but when I got into the new company which did pay me much better, my technology got changed. Now earlier I was working on a very highly used technology, but now I am on a niche technology which is less used and might disappear in say 10 years. I am worried about the future. I don't know if I should go back to the technology in which I was working earlier (C#.net), or learn a newer tech like data science or AI and try to start fresh or continue with the one I am working on(a Telecom billing solution). Can you please suggest to me the path?
