Need career advice

Hi, I have almost 8 YOE in software development. I was in my comfort zone and spent 6.5 years in a service based Indian MNC on a legacy project, where I only did what was assigned. I don't think I have good skills in the technology I was working on. Then I switched and I wasn't informed but when I got into the new company which did pay me much better, my technology got changed. Now earlier I was working on a very highly used technology, but now I am on a niche technology which is less used and might disappear in say 10 years. I am worried about the future. I don't know if I should go back to the technology in which I was working earlier (C#.net), or learn a newer tech like data science or AI and try to start fresh or continue with the one I am working on(a Telecom billing solution). Can you please suggest to me the path?

I am considering taking a 6-month break from my career. Currently, I have 2 years of experience in the IT sector. I would like to know if it is feasible to re-enter the IT industry after this break. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am really feeling bad and stuck, I am not getting what to do next after 14 yrs of IT Experienced. Facing difficulties and not getting good opportunities to up skill and not being able to manage work and family. I don't have soft skills to move to management or client face role, solution architecture. I am feeling my career going to end. Kindly suggest me.

I have been working with Infosys for past 5years(total exp) and my current salary is 20LPA CTC. I work on Apple projects and the work has become repetitive over the last three years, primarily focusing on Java, Spring, Microservices, and Elasticsearch. I really want to join a product company now, for better compensation and more engaging work, but I’m uncertain how to proceed. I’ve just been writing APIs and scheduled jobs, and at this point I think I know nothing beyond it. The thought of facing the interview processes of tech giants for senior roles is daunting. Where should I start from? How do I regain my competence?

I am currently software architect with 14yrs exp with 12 yrs in the same org, but got to work on different products,stacks every 2-4 yrs. But not being doing much coding recently, and it's all simple Python anyway with a sprinkling of C++. I have started hands on learning of JS, Django, Kotlin to get a feel of new languages and frameworks. Don't want to put entire resume here, but those are the key ones. I enjoy my architecture and specifications role, but I think I might be missing lots of opportunities to learn different tech/stacks. Most importantly I feel up for a change after years of avoid risks to person commitments which are much changed now. Coming to the point, what worries me most is that most JD in different tech/roles expect some prior experience/expertise which I don't have. Requesting comments/guidance on how to make this transition to new role/tech/org. If anyone has done similar experience, request to share approach. I am apprehensive even of talking to my contacts for a referral as I'd like to try out and get some confidence first. I did a lot of transitions so far, but I wasn't deciding those. It was either customer/boss or chance. I am confident of learning anything, but not about impressing interviewers. Maybe a few interviews with Amazon and similar LEET based ones might be the cause of my low self confidence. I abhor those kind of questions unrelated to work and as a principle never ask them as an interviewer.

I am a senior software engineer with 6 + yoe mainly into backend (java and golang tech stack). I am currently serving my notice period with no offer in hand.(my last day is April 30) I have applied and given interviews to almost 12 companies and failed after clearing 2 or 3 rounds. I feel that I am losing confidence in my skills when I face such rejection even though I shouldn't. I feel like whatever answer I give during interviews is wrong and I constantly try to lookup the internet in the middle of interviews in fear of getting rejected. Even though I know things very well I try to validate it and then mug up whatever is written on the internet and whenever a new question is asked which I haven't seen earlier where I would be required to think , i blank out. This has never happened to me earlier.. I need some advice on how do I keep confidence in my skill and start solving things on my own.

Feeling stagnant in my tech support job having 6.5 years of experience, currently working in Bosch. Contemplating resigning to pursue software development engineering roles after upskilling myself. Hi all, I need some advice from someone in my situation.(Spoiler : Long post ) Some intro : Ever since i was a child i wanted to be a doctor (I was good in Bio and bad in maths with 56 /100 in 12th Maths ), as such i prepared for NEET , and dropped one year for the same , as my father is a farmer ,only way i would be doctor is to crack into a government college where fees are low . I worked hard for a year but i missed the cutoff mark for Gov MBBS seat by 12-14 marks , i got multiple offer letter from Gov-funded colleges with fee about 3 L per year , but as my father didn't have 3L in his bank i was not able to provide a demand draft (DD) on admission date and they rejected me.Which had a impact on my mental health. As i had some interest in Android ROM/kernels , i took admission from Btech CSE in tier-3 college, as the fee was low and i thought i can learn coding and get a decent off-campus offer. But unfortunately for me i struggled to clear maths related papers again and had 5 backlogs over 4 years . I spend my 4 years trying to clear all papers within course time ,which i succeeded with a low CGPA of 7 . But I never learned coding well and didn't know about things like leetcode etc. I tried months for job in 2022 , but none was hiring as i was from tier 3 college + low CGPA , i finally got an offer from Consultancy for C++ developer role .They told they will deploy me in IBM in contract to hire position with a salary of 3LPA . But on day 1 at IBM i come to know my project is Application support , and that this project was closing soon , now in 2024 project is over and am unemployed again. Now when i am applying via Naukri i am only getting BPO calls with low CTC (below 4.5LPA ) , Noone is even considering me for SDE roles. Only positive is i cleared CAT and got into provisional list of IIM Sambalpur, last year ,But didnot go as fee was very high for me (15L+) I feel i have destroyed my career and even leetcode guys are not getting jobs there days . Only hope i feel i have now are : 1)Write CAT again ,Go for MBA in a decent college as i have interest in stock markets (Paid my UG fees by trading ) ,This means i will have to take 10L+ loans ? Also , is MBA worth it for someone with no finance background in UG ,will i get job afterwards? 2)Try to get out of india to any European country to do any PG taking 15L+ in loans and try to find any job there. Keep in mind i am only breadwinner in my family ,Age : 26 , UG passout 2021. Which of the following should i try for ? I know its long post and many wont read, if you read the post please comment recommendation .Thanks

I am working in a service based for a multinational brand. However i am not satisfied with the job, learnings and salary.. I am having 2 yoe on a cms called Drupal. My work mostly revolves around site building which requires no coding at all. Its very basic. But I want to get into high paying jobs I am learning DSA but i am worried that what i have been working on for 2 years might not be taken into account as actual experience. I am worried that big companies might reject my profile because of this lack of real world coding experience. I am really confused what to do. My manager is pushing to get a certification in Drupal and get hands on experience on coding in drupal (php, jquery, twig). I don't think drupal has scope when compared to mern. I don't see a lot of jobs for drupal when i search in linkedin or naukri. What's your take on this ? The problem here is i am really confused whether to continue learning MERN (i have been learning and have a decent idea) as mern looks like best bet to me to apply for big tech companies. Graduated from a Tier 1 MBA, got into a rando role very early on during placement (think Day0). Totally messed up job change during covid (pay reduction), and suffered more with family issues. I am probably earning a lot lesser than my average batchmate, and not at a good designation (or skills) either. Trying to get back on track with my career via consulting or Category role in startups. Need advice on how to get there. Getting rejected by most consulting cos (even big4) and startups on online portals while applying.
