They did not give me the promotion despite me making my boss irrelevant

So I was a top performer in my team, and the most tenured after my boss. My boss still wouldn't praise me enough or give visibility of my work to his seniors. Guess he was always insecure that I would shine brighter. So I decided to take my boss out by putting him under significant stress by making his role irrelevant. By simply DOING HIS WORK I started doing his work and and making decisions he is supposed to be making. Specially during a week when he was gone - I pretty much acted as a pseudo boss for the entire team. The final nail in the coffin was I somehow setup a meeting with my boss' boss and told him exactly how poorly managed our team was and how insecure my boss would behave. 6 months later my boss looked outside for a role and exited the company And this performance review cycle I still did not get the promotion. They're saying they'll bring another manager above us but they haven't promoted me. FML

Career Progression: ā€¢Began as a manual tester and swiftly climbed the ranks to QA manager, product manager, social media manager, talent acquisition, lead ops, scrum meetings host, business analyst, and reporting managerā€”all within three years. Challenges and Contributions: ā€¢ Joined a team of 5, facing tight deadlines and escalating challenges. ā€¢ Non-tech background but injected administrative skills, streamlining project management and operational processes. ā€¢ Conducted 100-200 interviews monthly, meticulously filtering candidates on a tight budget. Burnout and Promises: ā€¢ Burnout from 12-13 hour workdays, skipping holidays.Assurances of growth for everyone as the company expands. ā€¢ Promised on reimbursement , which didn't happen. Shift in Dynamics: ā€¢ After 2 years, team expanded to 30 members. ā€¢ Entry of a senior manager triggered organizational changes, leading to politics and misunderstandings. ā€¢ Company achieved its goals, securing a pre-seed investment of 3.5 million USD. Unexpected Turn: ā€¢ Migrated everyone to a new company post-OKRs, except for me. ā€¢ Left without a role and dismissed due to the absence of a space for non-technical roles. ā€¢ Was quiet fired with alot of trauma. But was strong enough to get back on my feet Upskilling and Unfair Reviews: ā€¢ Upskilled as a data analyst but was left out of review sessions, necessitating self-initiation. ā€¢ Access to the CEO, once easy, became challenging post the senior manager's arrival. Current Dilemma: ā€¢ Underpaid with a CTC of 3.5 LPA with a failed promise of hike ā€¢ Transitioned to data analysis through sheer hustle and determination. Seeking Guidance: ā€¢ Unsure about the next steps, seeking advice and suggestions from the community.
