What do you do outside of work? Are there any hobbies you genuinely love and don’t just do to pass the time? Do you have any secondary sources of income?
From what I have seen, most people in corporate lack ambition. They don’t have any passion, nor is there any will to do anything outside of work. While I completely agree there is nothing wrong with it, the sheer low percentage of people who are passionate about their life just astonishes me. Maybe I am expecting a lot and am wrong here. I wanted to know others’ opinions as well. What do you people think can be the reason?
At this point the only ambition i got is playing tough game on toughest difficulties. Playing extremely complex grand strategy games from paradox interactive.
I actually don't want to climb any corporate ladders. I don't care about job titles and don't need any accolades. I just want to have income to fund my lifestyle, not be depressed working with assholes, help other people and be around good humans. That's it.
Having passion or will is just not enough. To achieve some Greater goals in life, you need to have that fire in the belly. No matter how passionate or skillful you are, if you do not have a Greater goal and enough fire in the belly to achieve it, you will always fall short.
For me i do a corporate job so that i can support my Stock market trading journey, Once i reach a certain $$, i will start my own business along with Trading as my full time profession.
I'm a guitarist and aiming to learn as much as possible, currently studying for my trinity levels. Apart from that I'm passionate about football, so I play 2-3 times a week. And I agree with your point, many people in corporate don't really have an actual interest.
This is what amazes me. People get so much comfortable with their salaries that they don’t wanna try anything else.
More than being comfortable, I think many of the ambitious ones try to make their job profile as their vision for life, nothing wrong with that though. But I do believe being a more well rounded person helps a lot, to stay sane

Is it only me or someone else is also bored of the monotonous work that we do just because we get a big fat amount at the end of the month.
I think it’s not the work that I am bored of but the fact that corporate doesn’t allow you personal time and space. My timings have always been 10 to 8 or 11 to 9 and it’s next to impossible to get a project that has 9 to 6ish. How are p...
