Diversity and inclusion

Diversity hiring (bank -mnc) has gotten to a point where I am only dealing with female stakeholders now as opposed to 10 years ago where I was dealing only with male stakeholders. What a fantastic change it has been! (Not sarcasm)

IGDTUW peeps, just enjoy your privilege and stop confronting frustrated peeps

So, recently there is a surge of peeps from igdtuw posting about their placement and internship in LinkedIn Twitter(congratulations). And there are a lot of arguments and confrontations going on about diversity hiring, recession proof college, etc. But what bothers me are people that are frustrated (even tough I understand the frustration) and tweeting shit like girls are getting opportunity only because of diversity hiring and all, bro are you dumb or what, no company would hire a liability, they might hire intern randomly but it's close to impossible to convert it in full time ( if you got no skills or required skills). Now there are some peeps from igdtuw confronting in a very rude and dumb way of showing how low the bar was for their qualification and test. One user tweeted something like "some boys crying about diversity hiring but are busy writing just Hello world" like behen at least write busy in reversing linkedlist. There is a girl (unnati) working at Zomato, she is giving gyan about how hard it was for her and how hard she worked for it, her GitHub is dry lake and the 1 year she was very active on GitHub( all of them were DSA question solved) that's it, she participated in a hackathon and got podium finish (i think), the only reason she was in the hackathon group was because there is a mandatory rule for one female member. all this is fine as life is unfair but the best you can do is not preach toxic positivity "ki karte karo ho jaayega" behen tu kab Kiya ye to bata? And some girls are feeling guilty of their privilege, so the best way to not feel guilt of your privilege is to enjoy your privilege to your max potential. without showing your arrogance maybe. All these shit are even tolerable because everyone is unique with different minds, different opinions, but those positivity ke dalal are the worst who are still saying karte raho ho jaayega and all.Peeps like unnati I am practicing to become more articulate, so feedbacks are welcome.

Diversity Hiring

My company is only hiring females for most of the positions. Now I dont really care about the gender/race/religion of the people getting hired but they must have right skillset and attitude. But most of the candidates who have been hired have none of these two. My team has almost 50 percent female candidates but they have been into the team for almost 6 months but still don't perform upto the mark. In some cases, college freshers are able to get the job done faster than these folks. Availability is also a big challenge and it's difficult to approach them to work beyond working hours even for small things that would take 30 mins or 1 hour. They just reply by saying I have logged ofr for the day. And manager would ask a guy to do the job. And let me confirm that the management expect us to be available 24/7 as its a business and operationally driven company. The manager dont ask females to work after working hours in most of the cases. They only work after working when the entire team is working. If its the individual owner who has to act, tgen it surely goes to any male guy. and everyone is super pissed of because despite working and giving more than 100 percent, the teams productivity doesn't justify the head counts. In my experience, diversity hiring should be done with caution. Candidates hired should have almost same level of knowledge and skillset as of the team and they should be told about the work culture, expectations at the time of hiring. Also people who don't need a job should avoid joining such culture as they aren't not sincere about their job and will be hated by everyone in the team due to these differences. Recently When I raised this concern to my manager, he said that I should avoid saying all this as it or else if this goes to HR, cases of posh may be slaaped onto me. I am really pissed off, planning to change the job asap. Not sure what kind of work culture have we created....
