What role are you in and what do you do?
How do you find the peer group? On a scale of “folks who’d roll their eyes when you ask for help” to “don’t mind helping you pickup something you’ve a difficulty in understanding”?
How organised and planned is your work?
Are the deadlines realistic?
Would you say you constantly upskill on the job or do you see a point after which you coast?

I don’t feel comfortable in sharing exact role, but let’s just say I am in front office.
Thankfully I have always been surrounded by people who have been very helpful and supportive. So in my experience it has an amazing culture and people.

As a fresher, no there isn’t. They recruit only from colleges which they visit on campus.

It’s more of compensation of the annual culling which was paused for last 2-3 years due to covid.

And certain part of business do not have great outlook, hence reduction in workforce for those units.

It’s primarily consumer banking but none of the departments are untouched. Each dept has got a quota of annual culling. It’s a normal and annual process this year it’s just three years combines in one. Hence such a large no.

Given the layoffs GS is doing in US, is it good time to join GS? Are they hiring actively in India? Secondly, are there any good business profiles/wealth management opportunities in Mumbai office? What all opportunities or teams are available in Mumbai office. I know, most of their teams sit in Bangalore only.

GS is firing across locations including India. I do not think any team is hiring actively at the moment. So unless you already have an offer I don’t think you get an offer for another 6-7 months. Mumbai is primarily sales. In India wealth management roles aren’t client facing roles if that’s what you mean by good profiles. Most of the stuff GSAM does from India are to help the MDs and team sitting in business locations. And needless to say exceptions are everywhere.
