Advice Needed!!👀

Hey peeps! Currently working in a Fintech company in Mumbai as a Frontend Engineer with over a year of experience. The current CTC is 7 LPA. I feel like the growth here is limited and from the past few months there's been a lot of micro-management. Even the CTC is not up to Mumbai's expense standard. I live in a soapbox and pay like 1/5 th of monthly salary. Standard of living has been decreasing while it should be opposite. + I've 6 days work week with 9 hours /day shift. Although I've decided to drop in papers soon, I'd like to hear your opinions. Brownie points if you refer me to some good early stage startup probably in BLR or Pune or Remote.

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well. Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

Background: I work in a D2C consumer product startup, we have an in-house website and a growing tech team of 7 people. The whole business team is 100+. I'm a '23 grad from a tier 1 engineering college. I joined the company back in September when the job market was at the bottom and I had to take a 40% pay cut (21LPA to 12LPA) (while switching (the last company ran out of funding). I was at a higher than avg base in my previous role but the current role is 20% below the average. (15LPA) The company is in a growth stage and lots of processes are yet to be defined which leads to a lot of chaos but I get a lot of freedom as well. My manager is aware of the whole situation and we had also negotiated a 6-month review for ESOP allotment. My monthly reviews have been going well and we have shipped some good improvements and features over the last few months.

Hello good folks of grapevine, I am very confused with my situation right now. I am currently working at a consumer tech unicorn in a strategy role but really burnt out with the working environment. I have no clarity on my roles and responsibilities which keeps changing every week. I am not learning much either. I am planning to quit without any offer in hand (notice period is 2 months, I have enough to survive 5-6 months). I am an IIT-IIM graduate (old ones). Total YOE ~ 4.5 years across strategy consulting, project management and strategy at current startup. Please suggest. Folks who have quit without any offer in hand, how did it work out for you?

I am a middle class guy working as a senior engineer in one of the product companies. I belong from the north-east, and I am the only child in my family. Since covid, I was working in a wfh setup. Recently, my company has ended work from home for everyone, and I am supposed to move to Bangalore very soon or quit. I am an active user on all social media groups on Reddit, Fb, etc. For the past couple of months after seeing so much of negative news about Bangalore, Especially the high population, skyrocketing rents, the auto unions, corruption, cut-throat competition, discriminative news, traffic issues, etc. It makes me nervous to be honest. My wfh here was pretty chill, and I had a very limited social circle here, but was satisfied since I could spend most time with my mom and dad. Im very afraid now about what should I do next, shall I quit the job and search for wfh, or shall I make my move. I don’t have any acquaintances there, no friends, no idea about what I’ll be doing next, how to start house hunting, or job hunting. At this point I am miserable and overwhelmed to think about all of this. Anyone who has gone through all of these, If you can share your 2cents, experiences or thoughts, about how you dealt this phase. It will be really helpful for me at this point in my journey. Joined a product based Company two months back. Company culture is great. decent pay. good policies like insurance, cab, leaves etc. But in the department I'm working at, the work is very Toxic. It's minimum 9 hours everyday (continuous stretch). and what's surprising is stress and hectic work is normalised here. No one talks about. no signs of change as well.

Hello everyone I wanted a quick suggestion from everyone. I have 3.7 years of experience and currently working as a Devops Engineer in Ericsson with 10 LPA. I am not at all happy with my compensation and I don't see any growth opportunities here. So I want to resign and switch. Is it a good time to switch? Please help me with your guidance I am really stressed.

I'm working in TCS for 1yr and benched entirely. I'm fed up now and looking for a job/internship in startups. Do u guys think that I should quit immediately or leave after getting a offer? And what do u all think about TCS pay of 23k per month for entry level associates?

I recently joined a company and I got to know that culture was toxic and it was not performing well. So shall I proceed further or I should resign. I don't have any offer in hand but cleared a few interviews. Marketing department

Will probably be offered Technical Architect role as per the job description and current profile. Presently at 25lpa and being asked to move to Bangalore for 31lpa (have not completed HR round yet) Did I lowball myself? Not sure which band this role would fit in. Any expert opinion(s) from gentle folks?
