Advice on meeting new people at 35+

I'm 24 yrs old girl. For the past few months, I have been struggling with anxiety and loneliness in Bangalore. I have tried everything in my knowledge and reach. I tried reaching out to people in the office which is tough because mostly are from either Andhra or WB or Karnataka, which makes it tough to fit in as they have their own groups and communicate in their native languages as they connect more. I tried bumble bff as well. But had no success girls are unresponsive and guys use it similar to date mode. I tried reaching out to my existing friends who live far away too but it became tough to meet them. I also tried to get relocated to some other city from my office, but my request got rejected. I am not a very social person, but I do want to make friends and I'm trying too but it's just not happening for me, organically or otherwise. Any suggestions or reaching out is appreciated

I'm a 26-30 F at IIM Calcutta, and it seems like a lot of my classmates are already in relationships. It's a cliché that you might find your partner in B-school, but seeing others dating makes me anxious. In my first year, I was all about academics, which turned out to be tougher than I thought. Now, I'm gearing up for placements, which should be my main focus (luckily, I have some interviews lined up!). But I can't shake the feeling that time is slipping away, and I get FOMO watching friends having fun and meeting new people. I know it's a privilege to be in an MBA program, especially at IIM Calcutta, but there's this nagging feeling that I'm missing out on the social side. Plus, I wonder if it's worth dating when people might move away for jobs after graduation. Do people use dating apps while in the MBA program here? I tried apps like Hinge and Bumble but didn't see many fellow students. With all this, how do people date post-MBA in big cities? I'm not into dating apps or the bar scene. How do you meet new people?

Most of us on Grapevine, working in corporate sector might make decent chunk of money if we keep grinding for a decade or two but very few of us would have the social capital (or as they say “networking” in our corporate jargon). Increasingly realising that the society respects the business owners or govt officers more than any senior leader in an IT firm. There is no social recognition for corporate folks. It might not be relevant for young folks as they still have some residual social recognition of the family for now, but what would happen after a decade or two. Most of the corporate “friends” are no longer in touch except for very rare ones. How does one build a social circle after 10-20 yrs in corporate? Would like to hear from folks above 40 yrs if they’ve had similar thoughts and how are they managing? Also, What are some ways one can start building social circle overtime while doing a corporate job? PS: I am referring social capital as having a certain level of stature in society alongwith deep connections with some people living around you who can help you in need or can expect something from you. This is different from LinkedIn networking where primary expectation is referrals.

Hey Folks, I am a 22Y M, and want to improve my dating life. I am an extrovert person and can talk to opposite genders very well. The only issue I face is to build a romantic connection. I suck at that. Don't know why, but flirting makes me feel cringe. Something about me: 1. I got my first girlfriend in the 8th standard. Dated for a year. 2. In class 9th, I experienced love for the first time and ngl I still feel the same for that girl. We dated for two years. 3. In the 11th and 12th standard, I had 1 girlfriend each standard but couldn't continue for xyz reason. 4. I then last dated in my third year (last of 2021), but long distance was not my thing. 5. Since, then I feel cringe whenever I try to flirt and don't want any love shove, because I never felt the same, I felt for that girl in class 9th. 6. Since, my last breakup I am only able to fulfil my physical needs but now I want to change that and find someone with whom I can build a strong connection So folks here, who know the ultimate love game here.
