Im really doubtful if landlords will be open to this. My rental agreement clearly states no commercial activities in the house premises.  
  
 May be you will have a better luck with landlords who stay abroad? They are the least interfering kind.

Hi fam, wanted to know your thoughts on becoming Airbnb hosts in Bengaluru. I currently reside in bengaluru. Honestly, i had great airbnb experiences wherever I stayed and since I have a knack for DIY my interiors so why not become an airbnb host. 

Give me thoughts as where should I start ? How to find good deals and property, should I take help of a broker? Is there any profit margin involve at initial level? What are extra costs involved like caretaker and maintenance? Are landlords in bangalore comfortable in leasing/renting out their property as airbnb? 

I’m thinking to apply the lease/rental model instead of buying the property. If someone is doing the same wanted to know their journey. My aim is to start with one property and eventually expand it.

People laughed at me when I asked for decent living spaces below 10k at these locations. It took 2 days, i went for a walk in the streets of Koramangala and HSR layout. And found multiple 1rk's less than 8k and multiple 1bhk's less than 12k. There are a lot of furnished 1bhk apartments with rent ranging from 15k to 18k. To all the people who are new to Bangalore, don't fall prey for hefty rents, do roam in and around the surroundings.. you will find good places within the budget. Surprisingly there are plenty of vacant spaces and soon the prices will come down.

I have stayed in BTM Layout 1st Stage in one pg from mid-2017 to March 2020 . I was paying 8000 for a room with an attached bathroom.

I am a software engineer with 2 years of experience and have been jobless since Dec 2022. I have decided that I can no longer stay at home and want to move to a city where I can network, upskill and hopefully find a job in the coming months.

I will be really grateful if anyone reading this could suggest me how do I go about finding a good pg accommodation for 10-11K monthly rent. I prefer to stay single and have an attached bathroom. 

What could be some areas where I can find accommodation for cheap and within my pre-conceived budget? I have very limited savings from my last job and want to utilise it judiciously before finding my next job. I will really appreciate your assistance 🙏

I am thinking of booking an Airbnb for 2-3 days and then start looking. But Bangalore is huge and not all areas are appropriate to stay especially for job-seekers who might be required to travel.

As the headline says I will be moving to Banglore for the first time next week. Finding accommodation here is a real adventure (Not a good one) from what I read and seen. I wanted advice from people who are already there. what is best the way to go about it? I have been using MagicBricks and Flat & Flatmates to search near Salarpuria Softzone, Bellandur area but have not been able to find anything good.
Is it hard to find one without a broker also how do you find a broker in the first place?

Friends have suggested joining Facebook groups which I am going to try next. 
I am also contemplating whether living in a PG or a Flat is a better option. For a flat, I would need flatmates which I currently don't have. I want my commute to be as low as possible because I heard Bangalore has godly planned road infra. My company has provided 15 day stay I will have to find it in the given time only.

Please let me know how you guys found accommodation. Tips and recommendations are appreciated. If anyone is aware of any empty flat please mention the property name/address. If anyone has stayed in a PG with not too bad food please mention it.

- > 70% lakes have dried up/covered up by builders
- its not even feb and there is shortage of water everywhere. There are people literally carrying jugs of water on their head like villages if you head out after evenings.
- brigade/sobha/prestige societies with flats > 1.5 cr have put out notices with water supply being cut for more than 6 hours everyday, wtf is Bangalore real estate really 
- water supply here was really bad initially ( hard water, polluted water) but the water shortage in feb only is really worrisome.

I want to understand homeowners/aspiring homeowners - how are you planning for this? Are You even worried about this?
Or even people thinking of settling long term in Bangalore, thoughts about this?

Homeowners of Bangalore - Opinion about water shortage

I'm looking to rent a 3bhk flat in Kormangla, as I'm about to move there soon. Upon seeing these ridiculous rents and deposits, it got me wondering if there's any leverage I have against Bangalore landlords.
I've heard this on multiple occasions that techbros suck at negotiating and most would go with brokers where they don't have direct communication with the landlord during the negotiation phase. Maybe that's part of the problem?
Is there anything we have or can use as a point based on which we can negotiate the rent ?
I'd love to know if there's anyone here or someone they know who has successfully done this.

Mid 30s, single, been in Koramangala (and Bangalore) for 3.5 years now. Absolutely love the society I live in. There’s a 2BHK available for sale 
1300 sq feet. 1.5 cr. 15 year old building. Great location. Low rise. 
I’m not sure of my future plans so unsure of how long I’ll be living here. Could be forever, could plan on moving a few years down the line. 
Unable to decide if it makes sense to buy or keep renting. Rental yield is ~4.1%. What kind of an appreciation cal I expect on 1.5cr in the next 5-10 years.
