Fascinating read! Although not sure we’re fully prepared for the impact of it. While timeline seems ambiguous, it feels like we’re on the brink  of something monumental. How long before we have a company having single digit employees generating >1B $ revenue. I bet within this decade

A lot of noise around AI taking coding jobs, which i fear might be real. Like not completely but you get my point. So how should one upskill themselves (especially the average folks, top 1/2% will not be affected in any field imo) for the upcoming shift? Like will data analytics/science or maybe ai/ml engineering jobs be on rise ? Should be start upskilling in those fields or any other suggestions? I would really like to know it from someone who has good experience in the industry or someone with good insight. Thanks

Jobs which will be created /not impacted by AI

Let’s say If, A big if, AI becomes self sufficient to do the job of a backend developer, like it’s able to write basic crud apps, simple system design stuff it can do and slowly it keeps getting better at debugging and stuff. (It should not need debugging tho) 

What can I as a backend developer do, to keep myself relevant in the market and always be able to find a new job?

Here's my quick 3 minute breakdown:

1. o1-preview: 97.8% on PlanBench Blocksworld vs. 62.5% for top LLMs, indicating shift from retrieval to reasoning.
2. 52.8% on obfuscated "Mystery Blocksworld" vs. near-zero for LLMs, suggesting abstract reasoning skills, showing transfer capability.
3. Variable "reasoning tokens" usage correlates with problem difficulty, hinting at internal search process, indicating adaptive compute.

The ability to plan a course of action that achieves a desired state of affairs has long been considered a core competence of intelligent agents and has been an integral part of AI research since its inception.

I know everyone’s talking about Nadella’s impressive grab of Altman and his guys and the inevitable fall of OpenAI. But has anyone given thought to the possible for all AGI for public good?  How autonomous is this R&D group really now that Altman is just another big tech employee. 

I worry for the future of GPTs and its open source nature. Gork is yet to prove itself to GPT-4. But Bing has never had a better chance to surpass Google than this. Interesting to see how Google react.(js) (lol)
