1. Build a portfolio by learning and implementing design work that interests you.  
 2. Once you have a portfolio with few hypothetical or client projects join freelancer platforms like upwork. 
 3. If you’re a student, look out for seniors, college departments or alumni who might have projects for you. 
 4. Learn some basic business skills to make sure you have a steady income stream.

Apart from oncampus, What are your tips for a fresher to land a job.

Tips for Off-campus

Background:

Tier 1 college, Branch - Civil, 2018 passout, Presently working at a state govt PSU with around 11.5 LPA CTC (salary part only, excluding medical facility which is decent)

Things I like at the present job:

1. Home state posting all throughout the career
2. Easy to take leaves and can mostly go home on weekends
3. Good work life balance.

Things I don't like:

1. Rural posting (as of now, will change in future)
2. Repetitive kind of work - not challenging enough and hence limited growth (I guess this is true for most PSU jobs)

Why thinking of the switch?

1. Civil was never really my passion - just what I got.
2. Taking the job was mostly due to family pressure of doing govt job.
3. Liked programming during school days, did web dev work in college fests.
4. I do like the process of building something up and also learning new things, and am hence beginning to feel tech is something that would suit me. 
5. Salary and fomo factors are there but not significant enough. 
I feel I have not been taking enough risks and hence am not being rewarded enough. I want the thrill of grinding and progressing in life.
 
What's stopping me then?

1. Obviously, the safety and protection of a secured job is difficult to overcome.
2. Family wants me to settle now, but I don't.
3. Recessions like this where layoffs take place even for skilled people due to factors not in one's control.
4. The fact that I might have to take a paycut, to begin in this career.

So what should be the path to take?

1. Learn DSA, make projects and apply. Could use my network (although very very few of my batch are in tech, most are in analytics, finance, core sector) to begin somewhere and switch
2. Go for M.Tech in tier 1, and hence aim for product based companies.

I am more inclined towards option 2, as the tech job market being what it is now. I am ready to slog for 2 -3 years (mtech preparation, mtech and then placement)

Please help me out with your views and suggestion.

What should I do if company wants experience react js dev

I don't have a job from last 4 months. And I am in a situation where I am not a fresher or not a experienced candidate. I have a 1.3 years of experience as a software engineer. Including 6 months of my internship.

The problem that I am facing from last 4 months. Is not that my cv is not getting shortlisted. The problem is either I am not able to clear the Technical interview due to some minor reasons. However I always solved DSA problem in the interview.

Or the Assignment i got as a round it's not clearing.  Even I am trying my level best to ace the assignments. 

And the other situation is if everything went well then either the position went on hold or my candidature went on Hold.

I won't say ki I am pro in everything but yaar, Mtlb itna kharab bhi nhi hu.

And now may is about to end. I still don't have a job.

Could you please guide me what to do? Should I still try for a job. Or start looking for something else.

My offer letter was revoked and I have been finding it hard to find a job since July. I gave few interviews and in final rounds was not selected(I guess need to upskill and be better) . More then that most people want me to work for less pay by saying "You don't have experience"(which is not even true, I did 2 internships, little bit of open source contribution).

Anyways, could you please give some practical tips on how to get a good job besides upskilling. Like how do I land more interviews? Etc?

P. S Referrals also don't seem to work. Got referral for few good companies but recruiters never reached out.

I believe my resume is good enough. I might not be someone who has a specialized talent but still I thought having two internships(both big public companies) would really help.
