Any offbeat locations to travel in South India
Can someone suggest offbeat locations to travel in South India for a 3-day weekend?
Travel-friendly locations with road and public transport access also are the factors to be considered.
Munnar and Kerala backwater cities (alleppey etc) are great, not crowded either

Didn't have a fixed itinerary as such, just book a nice resort around there or in the outskirts. I remember we had one just outside munnar, much cheaper and very nice property.
Just explore tea gardens in cab or on foot. Local shops make chocolate too, you can go sample some. Kerala also has great biodiversity and multiple bio forest /parks and guided tours of them. You can purchase organic vanilla stevia etc, many plants and seeds as well if you want to grow at home.
