Best places(culture+pay) to join as a fresher in a nontech role?

Also, how to pick your first job? What to look for?

Avoid any ops company. Most of them have bad wlb.

Join a Saas company which is kind of established, overall they’ve little revenue pressure and if you’re in non tech roles, you’ll get to spend time with clients who’re not based in india, so you’ll get lots of exposure.

My rules:

  1. Boss is very important, fundamentally they shouldn’t be insecure
  2. People you work with plays an important role too, lookout for companies which hire exceptional talent and don’t fall prey to mass hiring
  3. Also ask how open the company is to lateral shifting, you should explore as many roles as possible very early on to figure out what you like (many companies have rotational program for freshers)
  4. Optimize for pay later, optimize for brand name early on, this will open up too many doors for you in future

I would say joining any US based company such as FAANG, Uber, LinkedIn and such is a great start for non tech roles.

Any Indian startup like Razorpay or Zomato or Inmobi is a great option too

How do I go about US company route? Off campus for a nontech role? FAANG would be next to impossible without a master's/MBA degree.

Yeah, slog in some unicorn, then get into faang post 2 y, another 2 y at india hq, and then you get a chance to move out, but usa won’t be a guarantee.

So it’s a 5y plan that you should work on.

Another thing to consider is Europe. Not that difficult to crack.
