I personally know of a family in Lucknow that lost their son and even before the “terahvin” (13th day of mourning) Byju’s executives went and met the widow and said: “Your son is good for nothing. How will he survive in the future?” to sell their courses.
Multiply this by hundreds of thousands of such meetings and pitches. This is the business ethic of Byju and this is what its investors enabled over and over. It’s not like they didn’t know what was going on.

If byjus was making money no body would have complained.
Education and medicine are business in India. People fall prey. How many employees quit byjus because of their practices?. Skewed reservation system is the reason here. People are desperate to find that magic wand.
