Can I resign if I have been put into PIP
Call it a victim of office politics or anything else, I have been put into PIP. Wanted to ask the grapevine community if a person is allowed to resign during the pip period. Basically I am planning to use this time to prepare for switch and resign just before the pip gets over. Any other possible suggestions are also welcome.
Don't resign. Generally after PIP is over and you are not through it they will put you on notice period. Effectively you will have a 'PIP duration+ notice period' time to prepare for your next job.
Prepare for interviews leaving anything related to office work/PIP and become thick skinned if someone tells you to work in such a situation.

Yes I am also thinking of the same, but I am thinking of resigning around the last day of PIP so that nothing goes on my Relieving letter.

If put in PIP, its better to resign.
I would suggest to resign after you have a job in hand. You never know how long you will take to find your next job

Two outcomes of PIP
Successful- you will be retained
Unsuccessful- you will be asked to leave (this depends on org to org whether to put on notice period or not)
Since PIP will be basis your performance in the project assigned (objectively) and your managers confidence in you (subjectively)- you can gauge during the mid of PIP and take call accordingly
