So, I'm young, recently started working less than 2yoe, i have always wanted a gaming PC, so I wanna build one now. Will cost me close to 1.8Lakhs, I have a savings of total 6lakhs, should I withdraw from my mutual funds (Nippon smallcap).

My idea is, i won't have the time to play games even if I have money later on, but now I do and this had been a long time wish of mine but I could never afford it, now i can. But logically, I'd be taking a hit on my savings, heart says live a little this is what u saved for, brain says u got a lot to save.

Could u guys please help me make a decision 😅

I’ll go first, getting that old PSP, the one which had WiFi in built. Or maybe PlayStation 2 which was like 5k-6k back then.

Now, I could get a PS5 or buy games to play on my PC, but the feeling is lost. Just like my childhood.

I guess I lived a part of my childhood today. Went on a walk and had a Cornetto IceCream, which back then I didn’t have the money for and had to buy an Orange/Cola IceCream. Then, I walked around my society.

Saw a few kids playing football and instantly teleported back to when I was a kid.

Now that child is gone and the dream has too. 
But still, it feels good remembering that 5 year old me would be proud of adult me, and that’s what truly matters. 🥰

Context: First Year CSE student

One of my classmates approached me asking if I was interested in game dev. I have barely been learning programming and other self-learning stuff so agree, thinking that I would be able to have some accountability Also make new friends. 

Decided we would learn C++ and game dev on unreal engine 5 during our semester break.

Problem:

I have an old HP 840 G1 laptop which doesn't have enough juice to run UE5. 

Is there a way for me to do this without needing a high spec laptop?

If not, should I focus on doing projects that I could complete with my resources, considering I was not terribly interested in game dev in the first place?

I'm confused between buying a MacBook Air M2 13", MacBook Pro M1, Macbook Air M2 15" (which just launched a few hours ago) or simply HP Pavilion, Lenovo ThinkPad, Asus Vivobook kind of 70K ish windows laptops.
I know Macbooks deliver way better battery and screen. But I'm wondering if it is worth investing 1.5L?
I would appreciate your opinion.
