As the title suggests, I often wonder what is the natural progression for people who join startups in Chief of Staff or even Founder's office roles? Do they move to a specialized vertical internally? Or do they move to other startups in CoS roles? Or they do their own venture (I like to believe this is still less likely). Have this thought because a lot of Tier 1 MBA, MBB consultant profiles have been moving to these roles and it really makes me wonder what path would the careers of these top talents take?

Are the Lead - Founder's Office/Chief of Strategy roles worth it for someone with 9y experience in Business Operations? What can be suitable exit options here?

I would like to say that Indian firms have made a joke out of critical titles such as Chief of Staff! 🤷‍♂️ In big tech; CoS is an extremely critical & cutthroat leadership role, equivalent to a Sr. Director but here anyone can be CoS at 4-5 yoe. 😅 Recently a similar folks applied for the role of L8 & recruiter pointed out that he is CoS & graduated in 2018. What do you think?

I'm in that role but I had never 'tried-tried' for it so I'm also not aware of the landscape really. Would love to hear from other folks here who are in this role to get a better idea of what you do at your orgs! What does your day to day work look like? What was your prior experience?
