Cybercrime Network Busted, 19 Arrested in Multi-State Operation

- Nineteen individuals were arrested across seven states in connection with 148 complaints filed on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP), targeting victims including Army and Air Force personnel in Delhi's South West region. - Police recovered 42 mobile phones, 21 SIM cards, six ATM cards, two fake Aadhaar cards, and Rs 35 lakh, while freezing transactions worth Rs 6.93 crore related to these cases. - Key operatives like Sanjay Kumbhkar and Sachin Pathak were arrested, revealing a well-organized network involved in phishing, fake DTP cards, and money laundering through petrol pumps. - Separate cases included a Wing Commander defrauded of Rs 2.29 lakh, an Army personnel losing Rs 1.99 lakh to a fake Amazon representative, and a stock market scam where a complainant lost Rs 18 lakh. - Additional arrests were made in cases involving job frauds, fake social media accounts, and investment scams, with significant recoveries of mobile phones, SIM cards, and bank accounts linked to the fraudulent activities.
